The Loud House: Season 4: Episode 9: Love Birds/ Rocket Men

 The Loud House Nickelodeon

Episode 9A: Love Birds

This is the 2nd episode to focus on things from the pets' point of view.  As that first episode was somewhat creative and fun, this time might be different. I can see why there wasn't a bunch of episodes that went and focused on doing things from the pets' point of view, which makes it even harder than doing an episode from Lilly's point of view. I will give it some props on at least not making the animals talk because reasons.

This one even foregoes trying to incorporate the Loud humans into it, compared to last time. What is the plot? Well it's Walt the bird falls in love with a plastic flamingo. (Alright, I'm gonna head out)  The cat, dog, and hamster work to help him out because yes. The fun part of the episode is that is presented without the animals talking and keeps them animals, compared to like when Arthur did that- badly.

He's gets embarrassed when he finds out that the fake bird is fake. We do see the Louds and like that last episode are presented where you don't see their head or faces to focus on a pet point of view. This episode really goes out of its way to not show their faces.  Cliff, Charles, and Geo think up an idea to help Walt by trying to find the bird a real mate.  I will give them points for the trying to get a freshly made widow pigeon there.

They then find a duck to they think might be a good fit for their canary friend. They put him on a date and makes something is going on here. I will say the episode is at least interesting in how it does stuff without out dialogue  and having to use expressions and animal noises and vision spots to get things communicated. Anyway, Walt finds out the duck has to fly south for the winter because that's what ducks do.

This means he's sad again. The other pets think it's a good idea to have the duck stay in the dog house and go to fake Florida. (Uhhh) Then Walt sees the duck with no name misses her family and he decides to let her go. Later the other pets think it's a good idea to let the house bird pet go and fly with the duck because umm. (What am I watching?)

The duck with no name and Walt are now in real Florida, but the episode isn't sure how to end itself so they did the same thing but with Walt being sad about missing the other pets, so the duck lets him go back. (If this was real life, he'd be dead) The episode also reuses a joke where Lana can read different animal talk.  Then it ends.

It's alright episode, though I can say it would have been a good time for the Loud House to do a 7-3-11 model  meaning a 7minute segment, 3 minute segment, and 11 minute segment. I feel this one being the full 11 kind of doesn't work for it. It had to repeat itself to fill the time. There is some charm to the episode it takes a creative difference to the show, but not something I'd go back and watch and check. - Re Watchabilty of an episode does factor in my scores. I think it could have worked better as a short or slightly shorter than it was. It's not unwatchable or anything and there's some fun to it. I give it 6.5/10.

Episode 9B: Rocket Men

I think it's going to be a long long time. Lincoln and Clyde are watching a space themed show and see an on TV for space camp. They want to go.  Lincoln asks his parents and does his convince them thing. Clyde's parents are worried if he's ready to go out and do a sleepaway camp. It was kind of fun to see both of them wearing ties and jackets to convince their parents.

They have made it to space camp. I'm also glad the episode didn't waste time on them trying to convince the parents.  The episode instead shows them having fun at space camp, I guess the happy before the storm.  There we go where they don't seem to like the food of green blobs. (blobs are part of a balanced diet) They hear two girls talking about excited they are for a flight simulator, and this makes them more scared. (embarrassing)

They decide they want to call their parents and want to come home. (Weak) The parents' (all 4) tell their kids they should give camp more of a chance, so they aren't going to pick them up yet. The kids agree.  It is a nice grounded moment to show that Lincoln and Clyde aren't having the best time with camp and not going the way they wanted. The parents showing some force too works.

Now the logical decision is ... Lincoln wants to escape. [ Well never mind]   This plan doesn't work. Though, one of their escape plans help them figure out the place is fun and then the parents decide to call the place to say they are going to be picked up.  The kids tell their parents they want to stay and the parents are happy  even with the long drive so alls well and end well.

It's a simple Clincoln episode, but it is a good episode and shows the idea of how sometimes giving something new a chance can work out. There are some fun moments and it's a very relaxed episode.  7.2/10.

That's it for now, tune in next time when we tell you Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids.
