Episode 2a: Squawk in the Name of Love

Squawk in the name of love before you peck my heart, in this episode Sergio's (what, you come back here and continue to read!) girlfriend the ostrich we've seen before named Priscilla has broken up with him. (good she can do better)  He's sad and really means it, and the other options haven't worked out for him. So Adelaide decides, because romance, to help Serigo.

That's the episode, Adelaide uses a book as the plot device to give Sergio tips that Segio as the episode says "Sergio's it up".  It is showing that he at least is working hard to try and get his love back and not cutting corners, even if he's a screw up.  At the same time, it's a good thing that a bird can't get a restraining order. Adelaide decides that it would make more sense to go with Sergio and try to make sure things go right. She was right and it worked.

It worked so well that Priscilla wants Sergio to meet her parents. (What?)  Sergio worries that he will "Sergio" it up and that means Adelaide will help again. This episode does the classic plot of someone giving words from someone else through and earpiece and that means bad things will happen.

I mean at first it works, then of course chaos, it is pretty funny  to see what happens though. This part of the episode is the funniest part of the episode.  Just when everything seems to be going south (ha south, birds ha) apparently the bad mistakes some how work to make things better.  Sergio admits things went wrong, but Priscilla likes that he put in the work, and that's what she ever wanted.

This is a good episode, with one of the show's weakest characters, but with a dash of Adelaide it works out just well, since she helps guide him to do the better ideas. It's fun and simple episode, I'll give 7.2/10.

 More after the  jump

Episode 2b: Date with Destiny

Ernesto is back and the show remembers Ronnie Anne and Bobby having a Dad. (yay)  So since there's 2 episodes with Ernesto to refer to, we can tell that because of Rosa taking his predictions the way she does that episode will have chaos and kind of lead into Ernesto being right because of the power of the English language to have vague meanings.

Maria is the target this time, as Ernesto gives an oddly specific prediction where she'll get a lifetime of happiness if she meets with her ex by tonight. (imagine someone else with the same sign also tries the same thing, never mind) Maria doesn't believe it, the other characters state that they didn't either but Ernesto has the place wire tapped to know that Carl lives with a bird. (And 0.1pt off for that bird poop thing, by the way)

It also gets weird that Ronnie Anne goes from one second saying her parents aren't  getting back together to Ronnie Anne saying "I guess we can work to get together". I should sue for the whiplash. Bobby also seems more eager to get them back together. So the plan starts where they work to get their parents back together, but first to literally bring them together.

The plan falls apart when Maria is saved by an ex, named T-Bone, so yes, Ernesto might have been right.  T-Bone asks Maria out and she says yes. This makes the Santiago siblings decide to go and get rid of him (not murder him) and it works because he's afraid of pineapples. (what?)  Arturo shows up and they start acting like a couple who have kids and not in love; Bobby seems annoyed this not happening and tries to force them together and  Bobby says why. Anyway, of course they aren't getting back together but yes, they will still be together in the family sense so Ernesto is right.

Ernesto causing Casagrande chaos  format is not something I was expecting but the episode works.  It wasn't really sappy, it brought out some funny stuff and the pacing was well done. The episode doesn't ramp the stakes up too much to let you down later ,that at least means they weren't trying to make you think these two would get together again. So I give it 7.5/10.

That's it for now, tune in next time, when Sergio asks you for a date and you guess what happens next!
