 The Loud House  Nickelodeon

(note since I was doing these posts as episodes aired, our numbering is screwed up but these episodes especially are connected to In the Mick of Time and Dad Reputation in their production so take that for note future people)

      Episode 19a : Lori Days

Season 5 of the series has noted that Lori has moved on to college, which for an animated series is something to note that they decided to have a character kind of just migrate away. Anyway, she's not been featured much this season , so this is an episode given to her.

The episode starts with the Louds having dinner and Lori is at golf college (yes) eating dinner with them on the phone, through video chat.  When the video stalls, because of course, Lori cries because she's missing out on family stuff. Her roommate (who might have a name , might not, don't care) suggests that she goes and see her family since it also happens to be the weekend. (It's the weekend? I quit!)   Now, she should have called first, it's just rude.

When she comes to the house, nobody notices she's there until Lincoln does and now everyone welcomes her. Then she finds out because she didn't call first (again rude) that everyone had plans to do something already.  Lori like a lost puppy decides the best thing to do will be tag along. (Also Lilly may have forgotten Lori, just like the audience , that's right I can feel your anger)

First she pops up with Sam and Luna's movie  (this is just sad)  Then Luan and Benny are doing mime stuff  (what?) Lucy is with Lana and the Fox Quints (yay) doing a fish funeral.  Then Lana is with Lincoln (wait huh?) and I'm glad someone wanted Lana and Lincoln to play video games together again, thank you for that.  There's a funny gag with them playing a video game and Lori thinking she was talking with them.  We can see that Lori is  just trying to be with someone and feels as awkward and painful as we are watching it. (in a good way, I hope)

Lori calls her roommate for help and gets the idea to try the next day having fun day with the siblings.  So now the next day, they try to mini-golf  but get kicked out, then try Dairy Land but get kicked out.  They try the park then it rains. Then they started to get in a food fight in the van.   The van ends up in mud and they have to try and push it out.  Then  a mud fight starts and Lori starts to cry.  She tells her family that her weekend was a bust because nothing went right. She feels that she's not part of the family, but the family explains that the day felt very Loud family like.

Good episode, many can relate to the idea of not being with someone or a group  and not understand  the in jokes and stuff like that. You can feel for Lori and how she felt. I liked seeing the stuff the Loud siblings were up to and how the second day felt like callbacks to the best of the Loud House. Dairyland, Burpin' Burger,  a van mishap.  There's something different people would get from it, and some good humor too.  I give 8/10.

Episode 19b:  Dream a Lily Dream

For most people, sleep is the stars shining bright above you , where the night breezes seem to whisper about loving you, but for Lily Loud there is no sweet dreams that leave worries behind her because she is having nightmares and crying and this is causing the family to a) worry if they ever say "nighty-night" again and b) worry about Lily of course.

They try to ask the toddler  (that makes sense?) to see what is causing the problem.  Lisa decides to figure out why with the power of Science (TM) !  She figures out that it's her causing her to have the nightmares thanks to her experiments. We are getting a sweet wonder that Lisa is worried and feels that she caused the problem so she is going to fix the problem. (I put the screw in the  tuna, but now I take the screw out of the tuna!)  Lisa makes a dream machine that will do the logical thing of entering a dream. (logical!)

I  will add that I like they did the self aware thing of mentioning the fight cloud. (I found a cloud once, it ended in rain)  Lisa assembles a team of Lincoln, Lynn, Leni, and Lola to go with her into the dream world.  Lisa also mentions that the rest of the family has to make sure Lily stays asleep while they are in there or else be trapped in there. The family has to linger 'til dawn or oh dear. (Though, really we know they aren't the show is cowardly do it!)

The episode really kicks off  how awesome it is in the dream world part the coloring as become slightly red and gives it a tone of other worldliness. The music also becomes more haunting. I really like the feeling it captures and makes a sense of unease and urgency.  The episode does a season 1 Trashy callback.

Meanwhile, outside there's a running gag where a noise happens outside of the house and a Loud goes out, deals with it, and then falls asleep.  (Also Royal Woods apparently has old people gangs) That was pretty funny to see, giving the episode quick moments of humor between some action stuff.

Now apparently, there was not just two things, there was  third thing.  It  calls back to Lisa mentioning Flip and now a giant Flip comes through and scares everyone.  Lincoln thinks up a plan to get  Flip  and they try to go Rambo on him.(also minus 0.1pt on gross thing there)   Lisa has everyone but herself return because she's going to do it herself. (wow power move)

Lisa gets captured by Flip and then we get a "He-Man" reference.  Lily turns the calamari into a sword and "kills" Flip.  Then there's a sweet moment between Lisa and Lily, it will melt your heart. The ending, Lily wakes up and crawls over to Lisa to give a final sweet moment.

This was a great episode, with the monster action vibes, the comedy, and the ending, I think it was well done to enjoy.  I'm glad the episode showed, Lisa's heart as well. This was a well done episode I give it that.  Just saying this, I give it 9/10.

That's it for now, sweet dreams, tune in next time when you leave all worries behind you, dream a little a dream of us.
