Episode 18a:  Much Ado About Noshing

In the current times, people go to websites and apps to get reviews on stuff, guessing people want to be careful with their money or something. Though there have been cases of people abusing these and leaving hate reviews just to destroy a business'  reputation.

This episode, Lynn Sr. is crying because someone is leaving his restaurant bad reviews. Lots of bad reviews.  In this case it's mostly a bunch of thumbs down and not a coherent review sentence or something.   He also keeps his phone in his back pocket ,with butt dialing, I've wondered though do people actually keep their phones in their back pocket, that seems to be a bad idea. That doesn't even feel comfortable when you are sitting, right?  (Apple wants people to sit on their phones, it's part of the terms and conditions, I think)

The Loud kids feel bad about their dad getting bad reviews (thumbs down)  Lincoln thinks up the idea to find the "nosher" (I'm sure that's an offense term somewhere) and (kill them?) has the family find the complaining person. The siblings pair off and  find Principal Huggins,  Mrs. Bernado (whom the episode remembers that she once tried out to be a manager) then also gather Flip, Mr. Grouse, and Scoots.  Lincoln decides to bring all of them to the restaurant (and kill them?) to dazzle them  and hopefully get a good review. (then kill them?)

The idea is to get the annoying people from around town and bring them to the restaurant, which is an idea.  The episode remembers Lisa's  other robot, Todd, and he shines well in this episode.  The weakness of this episode is that, I get the point that these people are supposed to be annoying, but they seem to start annoying me, and really Lynn Sr. should have just kicked them out. I do like the quirky teacher, but still  too much.

Things seem to go well, but then again they get a new thumbs down. Lynn Sr. gets mad and starts yelling at the guests and apparently they don't know what he's talking about.  The twist of the episode shows up that running gag about butt dialing,  and that's what ends up being where he wants to win back the guests he insulted (but why?) and gives them free meals once a week for a year.  (but why?)

Hey Rita wasn't in this episode, good for her, anyway, it was fine, Todd was fun and the family and dad aspect was fun.  The little twist was fun, I wasn't expecting it, and the episode laid the groundwork where the butt dialing gag had a purpose.   The ending ending was slightly off to me, he should have let them be insulted and leave, because like Flip, Flip is a cheapskate anyway, plus they had given them a free meal and they were being rude anyway. I'm sure there are better customers in Royal Woods than them. I give the episode 7.5/10.

Episode 18b : Broadcast Blues

So, I will note as a viewer of the show, I might be one of the few who aren't really bothered by Chandler McCann,  I kind of like the character he's not pure of heart or anything but he's not something that's too much of  a bother.  This episode remembers  the news team thing that Lincoln and his friends do and now shows that the equipment is having some failings.

Going back to Chandler, while everyone in apparently Bolhofner's class (huh) enjoys watching the news thing, Chandler seems annoyed that they are and aren't paying attention to him. Later, Chandler wants to join the news team and Lincoln says no.  Two things a) he hears Stella mention something about the bad equipment b) the episode shows a change with Lincoln  from like season 1 where he's trying to impress Chandler to here where he's just like no and walks away.

Chandler offers to give them free equipment in exchange to have to him join the news team. They say yes. Now the newscasts is in HD like that's impressive and it's 2007. (Don't you start) Chandler decides to a  bad job for some reason, besides plot, and the team wants to kick him out, but we have like 8 more minutes left so, he comes in an brings in new microphones to sweeten things before they can fire him.  He wants a bigger role on the show, and wants to do the weather.

Chandler does the weather and decides to do a prank on Lincoln and Clyde instead, and then he gets them a satellite dish in exchange to get his own segment.  (I'm sure that's legal somehow) Now, Chandler has his own segment and this time he decides to go through the hall and knock books from others' hands.  Next up he asks a kid why he got dumped and then makes fun of him some more.

Stella tells him all his reports are bad, and Lincoln fires him, and decides instead of bribing them he decides to just say no. (oh ok,  when you get fired , just say no) Hot mike moment, Chandler was making a phone call, he's been selling stuff from the sewage plot his dad works.  The news team decide to sting him and yes.

Rusty and Zach play a  married couple and  set up a sting and catch him and threaten to have him quit or they'll tell his dad.  He's also taking his stuff back. Then Lincoln gets the idea to cell phones which apparently works and Chandler gets pranked with a skunk.

Maybe one day, the show will something for Chandler to be maybe grow and change but for now that's him. It was fun episode, a good spin on the Lincoln + Friends format and I liked the energy the episode brought.

Time for me to read more  into something than probably was even thought of in the first place: I think Chandler really was wanting attention so much and he might think being flashy and over the top is the way to do get that. He didn't like that Lincoln and his friends were getting attention over him and getting it in an easier way.  Again, that's my weird random thought ,but it felt that way.

I give this episode an 8/10

That's it for now tune in next time , when we take down all bad reviews and call Chandler to take out the reviewers
