The Loud House Nickelodeon
Previously on The Loud House, Lola and Lana were born , they celebrated the anniversary of that. Read that here.
Now we go to episode 4, it's double length episode woah.
Episode 4: Ghosted!
This episode starts with Lori at her golf college, doing college golf practice. Things start to get spooky for Lori as she thinks there's a ghost. Apparently, now in the Loud House, ghosts are real.( Grounded show is losing it's grounding) So, calls Clyde. (Check that again) Yeah that's right, Lori calls Clyde. He's watching the plot convenient show, Arrgh! and he's surprised that Lori called him. Lori insults her own brother, who is also there because it saves a phone call. Her idea is to call to exorcise the ghost.
They also start thing where Lori's hair is falling out because of stress and fear. Now they try to find the ghost. Eventually, there is a ghost, because the show really has decided to go and say ghosts are real in this world now. Lincoln gets the ghost to go away by talking it away. Also the Lori saying she had doubts about Lincoln doing it ,after praising Clyde and the earlier saying Clyde was the brains of their Clincoln McLoud thing was werid and out of nowhere, and I'm not sure why that happened.
So, the next day, Lori sees that everyone seems to be off on golf this day. The ghost is Shanks Bogey, was a former student and caddy, he was inspirational to them. They had golf in 1900, don't you know. He's been helping even after death. (But why?) That's the first half.
Lori has lost most of her hair from stress. She calls Lincoln to help, but he' s not in the ghost-friending business, he gets Lucy to help instead. She brings her club to the university to help. I will say right here, Boris was the best part of this episode-half just yes. So, Lucy and her friends work on these weird schemes. Show decides to do unnecessary farting jokes. (Wonderful!)
Lori decides to talk the ghost herself, to see if he could come back. After working at it she thinks that it didn't work. The next day, she has a her golf tournament and things don't seem to be going well, until they do. Shanks decides to help, guess he's back.
I am surprised this more grounded show has decided to some more ungrounded things this season, to an extent, wasn't expecting ghosts to be real on the show, more than a random joke that is, Lori gets a leading role, which is something I wasn't expecting this season, but glad they still have her as part of the show. The first half of the episode was entertaining. Lori, Lincoln and Clyde are together doing a some fun ghost hunting.
After season 2, they stopped the Clyde nose-bleed and robot gag (which I didn't mind in the first place) but we hadn't really seen the characters interact in a long while. That was nice, though the Lori and her remarks on Lincoln didn't make sense and weren't funny so, it was random. Lynn Sr. embarrassing Lincoln slightly was fun. The first half was fun, because it was nice to see them be a trio, I kind of wish we had more fun with them,
The second half, was not as strong or good or strong. Lori finding out that was an important ghost was strange, though predicted in the plot synopsis, but why? To be fair, if the school is relying on a ghost for success then that's not good. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it.
Lucy and her friends were arlight, but the plot felt like it was being filler to fill this 22 minutes instad of just having a 15 minute special + 7 minute episode. (if Spongebob can do it, then they could, cowards!) It's not Lori's fault that the ghost was helpful to the school, because that wouldn't make sense. (I think) Maybe there's something I missed, but the episode didn't land for me.
(To be fair, there are episodes I like that others don't so, this was bound to happen) To me though it wasn't a bad, awful episode but it kind of didn't land in my view in the second half. I give it 6.5/10.
That's it for now, tune in next time when they have a real ghost episode with pea soup and everything!
