Now to episode 20.
Episode 20a: What's Love Gato Do With it?
An episode with a Tina Turner song title reference , yes! You must understand how this episode make me react. (Happy you did that?) Anyway ,it starts with the family coming from an onion festival. (They didn't invite us? they are just rude) Then cats show up, and the episode does overboard in anti-cat propaganda. (It must not stand!) Bobby goes to deliver some food to a house, a kid named Alexis is having a birthday party, and gets asked to stay for the magician, and he agrees. (I agree too) Bobby volunteers to get hypnotized. The magician offers the idea of being hypnotized into any animal, of course, Bobby says anything but a cat. (Will this episode's anti-cat agenda be stopped, call you congress person to stop this!)
Of course the kids pick cat, because good. She hypnotizes that everything he hears a bell he's a cat, and when he hears the word papaya he'll be back to normal. So she rings a bell and he starts to act like a cat. I like the background music for this episode. He doesn't get un-hypnotized because we need a plot. Bobby starts doing cute cat stuff and acts like a cat.
His family thinks he's acting weird, I say he's cat-ing weird. Ronnie Annie figures out that Bobby is a cat, she wonders if their parents could help him. They are also confused, Carl finds out that Bobby was hypnotzied, and they go back to the magician. She says that she can't un do the spell. (We have 4 minutes left in the plot so duh)
He figures out that he's going to be stuck this way for ever and decides to live as a cat.(that's a sentence) Bobby joined the gang of cats in the city and starts hissing at his family. He tells them that they shouldn't have to live with him, but Ronnie Anne and the family (not Sergio) says they love him and don't want him to leave them. Hector spent money to make Bobby's room into a cat paradise. Apparently, hitting his head helps him not be hypnotized. (what?)
I enjoyed this strange episode, it was strange, I mean that, but fun. I'm going to start with the part where Ronnie Anne tells her brother she loves him even if he sometimes will be a cat, that was a nice thing to see, and melts the heart. I guess status quo had to come in and make him normal again, would been interesting if that was an overarching thing. (What a strange thing to say)
I enjoyed how funny the episode was, and the background music was fun. They didn't go for gross jokes, which was a nice thing. The pacing of the episode was nice, it gets it setup done from the start and goes with it. The searching cat Bobby montage was fun. The resolution was slightly weak, I mean having the magician fix it would have been kind of weak, but it at least works, versus him falling down when he's done that before in the episode and no change.
There's some enjoyment to be had in this episode, even though it is really strange. I give it 8/10

Episode 20b :Dial M for Mustard
An episode title referencing the 1954 Alfred Hitchcock film, Dial M For Murder? Nice!
There's no murder this episode though. (Cowards!)
Bruno, the hot dog man is getting ready for a contest where if he wins; he gets to to Vienna for a sausage thing. This is important to the plot. so is Ronnie Anne's skateboard trick. So anyway, Bruno's cart is missing and of course that contest is coming up. This episode has some fun background moments: Laird and his kite, for example, gives the episode a nice little pay attention thing. Carl becomes a detective, he, Ronnie Anne, CJ, Lalo, and Sergio go and figure out who did it. It seems that every person is cleared.
Hector proves to be a good red-herring as he is also in the contest and something to gain from Bruno not being able to compete. Thanks to Carlota being at the park, they have video footage of who took the cart, a guy in a hot dog suit. (This is a strange episode of The Masked Singer) A fun chase happens and Ronnie Anne's new skateboard trick comes in to play, and they find out that Vito stole the cart because he was going to miss Bruno and his hot dogs. (what?) They are able to get his cart back, and Vito admits he would miss Bruno, but Bruno was going to bring Vito with him because sure alright.
This was a fun episode. I like the attention to background details and things that didn't seem to be part of the plot, coming into being used was great. It has a fun atmosphere, and works well for an episode. Carl being a detective was fun, they brought back his fake little office thing and the Ronnie Annie trying to main charter him thing was fun.
I give the episode an 8/10
