Episode 18a: Mexican Makeover
Rosa's mother calls her (yeah I'm surpirsed too) her name is Mama Lupe. The woman says she's happy that Rosa is carrying on the family traditions and mentions the plot driver that some other family members don't want to embrace the culture, they eat American food and don't know Spanish. Rosa notices her family eating American food, watching American television, and not speaking Spanish. (Bobby has a nice USA outfit out) Lupe is going to be visiting and Rosa is worried that her mother's heart might give out if she sees the family not doing traditional stuff (that would be a dark episode)
So, Rosa's plan starts. The next day, she puts the kids in traditional Mexican clothes. The house is decorated like Mexico. (what?) The kids are confused about what is going on. Rosa tries to help them learn Spanish by going crazy with a label maker. The kids wonder why Rosa is acting like this, so eventually she tells them that Lupe could die if she's shocked by the not Mexican heritage ness going on. (That would be a dark episode)
Ronnie Annie and the others set up to make sure everything goes alright. Ronnie Anne learns Spanish, and to make it where the family show off some traditions. Everything goes wrong because of course it did. Lupe finds out everything, and faints. (She doesn't die) They tell her that they didn't want to disappoint her and she's proud because they took the time to care about her. The episode with her having a good time.
It's fun little episode, the idea of them worrying about the woman dying from shock was slightly dark. It was fun seeing them in the different outfits, and the episode had some funny moments. It is an alright episode more re-enforcing the theme the show goes with, that family is important. I give it 7/10.

Episode 18b: Uptown Funk
Carl likes trains, show has showed us this multiple times. Carl doesn't want to play with Adelaide , Sid's sister, but he overhears her father who is a train driver for the local train system say she could come with him to work, but she says she's already done it multiple times. That makes it weird that Mr. Chang says everything she can do when she would already know. (Plot gotta plot) So, Carl decides he does want to play with Adelaide to get on that train ride. (Yes, it's that kind of plot)
So he does this stuff with Adelaide like having a tea party, kiss the frog (what?) , and rescue the Carl from the train tracks. (what?) Part of me wondered if Adelaide had figured out Carl's rouse, but no her games are just like this. She and Carl get married and the frog gets to be the baby. Carl gets to be on the train. He lets Froggy 2 go hop around to distaract as he heads for the conductor's space.
Adelaide figures out that he used her. Mr. Chang goes to check out what's going on, while Carl is enticed to press buttons on the train. So of course, he presses buttons. He makes the train faster and makes everything worse. I like the animation they did for the train map it's a nice coloring and style to it.
This episode is weird but in a fun entertaining way. Carl begs Adelaide for help, she helps because she knows trains like that, thanks to the mentioning of her visiting her father so often. Carl apologizes and makes up stuff and they are friends.
Again, this is a fun episode with a little weirdness to it. Carl and Adelaide being friends or becoming friends is a nice touch. The episode is entertaining. I give it 7.5/10.
