Episode 17a : Arrgh! You For Real?
I'm not sure about you, because I don't know you specifically reading this post but, do like those ghost shows that air on Travel Channel (travel to the other side) there's always this point that MAYBE they might not be real, depending on either the show and or your thoughts on ghosts. Anyway, on the Loud House, Lincoln and Clyde were shown to love this show called "ARRGH!" it was what Lincoln wanted to watch in the first episode. So, this episode tries to have a message, but it doesn't.
So Lincoln and Clyde are watching an episode of "ARRGH" and they find out the show is plot conveniently coming to Royal Woods. So, they go the see the show get taped and they can't see what's going on because a lot of people want to see the show. They get mistaken for crew members and end up getting to be inside and Lincoln and Clyde find out a secret: the show is faked.
Now, Lincoln and Clyde have a natural reaction by natural, I mean not natural. Lincoln goes through deleting his recordings of the show and Clyde is throwing out anything that's not real. Now, I can understand being annoyed that something you thought was one thing turns out to be something else. The idea of being mad it's fake is slightly confusing though, as does that ruin their enjoyment of the show? Knowing that some of the things about their show is faked? Strange enough, this show isn't real , it's drawn by people to have characters and have a story (these aren't real people? noooo my life is a lie!)
Anyway, instead of helping Clyde by having him accept that things can be faked and still be enjoyable, Lincoln and the host of "ARRGH!" go and put on a fake ghost hunt to trick Clyde into thinking its real again. (Which if successful, Lincoln will have to take this secret to his grave). Now, Clyde believes in something again. (yay?) They do have the little moment where maybe Lincoln and Hunter may have caught a real ghost. The ending has Clyde believing in almost everything again, because that's a good idea.
Yeah, no, I don't know what they saying in this episode. If the idea is well yeah some reality shows are faked, but don't let that ruin your enjoyment if you like them, then they failed because Clyde didn't learn that lesson. If the show wants to lesson learning this episode Clyde learned absolutely nothing. Hunter Spector (nice name) does feel bad that people find out the show is faked because of tv scheduling and things he doesn't want to hurt his audience members that way including Clyde, this part of the episode works along with Lincoln trying to help his friend. Like I said, unless I missed the whole point, this episode's message is confused; things have to be real to be enjoyable, if that's what they are saying then that's a strange message for a fictional show about a boy and his family. If the message was trying to say accept that things don't have to be real to still be enjoyable then they failed by not having Clyde accepting this. If its for Lincoln, him saying he can handle this and get over it, then they should have showed him accepting it It's not outright bad episode, just very confused. I give it 6.5/10.

Episode 17b: Garage Banned
This series shows us that everyone in the house, except Lincoln, share a room, Lincoln sleeps in a converted closet. So, that means space is minimal. The other thing the series shows us that there's not a lot privacy and alone time in the house, and Lori being the eldest also gets some oldest sister duties on top of that, this episode goes with that.
Like Lana has a bad dream and sleeps in Lori's bed, Lola gets help with hair and stuff from Lo and more older sister duties she is tasked with. This does give her some annoyance and she gets to move into the garage, which was converted from being the van's sleep hut. (It even has it's own bathroom) Now I know how this episode will go and not just because I've seen it before, but more because it's how this show rolls. Anyway, it tries to show Lori being bored being by herself. (Couldn't she just go out or something.) Meanwhile, inside the house Lisa makes Lola bald and takes her hair (I'm calling someone)
It's nighttime and Lori gets scared by night time things. Lana tries to go to Leni with her nightmare problems and Leni isn't Lori so, that goes worse. Lori wants to move back in the house, but because we have 5 more minute that means Lori has to try to get back into the house by doing everything but the obvious just tell them because we have 5 more minutes in the plot. Lori buys some mice and because we have 4 minutes left in the plot, the mice don't work because Lisa has a mouse trap that become her research subjects. (Those poor mice, minus 0.5 pts)
She tries to leak her bathroom, but Lana can fix this because she is able to do so as show before and we have 3 minutes left in eh plot. Ghost problem.... call Lucy... yep because maybe Lori should try something her siblings don't have a skill in. Meanwhile, in the house everything goes wrong still, while Lori decides to let the neighbor man, Mr. Grouse, to destroy the garage and bribes the Garfield man with lasagna. Because that's a logical plan. The siblings find out after he accidentally destroys his own garage. Anyway, she does what she should have done 4 minutes earlier and tells her siblings she misses being inside the house. Also Lisa, needs stop taking people's organs, (I'm suing)
While, I can say Lori deciding to do the contrived things to fill out the plot length could be a reason, it does fit that she wants to keep her pride which is why it's not a bad episode. Lori isn't used to being by herself for a long times so it fit well. I think it's a great episode for showing that and it gets 9.5/10.
Tune in next time, when we find out that Spongebob isn't real.
