Episode 19: Epic Tales of Epic Fails: The Madman with the Plan
Lincoln and Clyde were trying to do a big stunt. Luan recruits Lana and Lola to help her record "fails" and "epic fails" for her website. The Really Loud House has decided to do a "Karen" thing where there's a woman named Karen Frickley a mom who got crayons banned from the school district.( Darn show doing a Karen thing , I'm tired and feel bad for the name etc.) Her son is named Hudson whom she decides needs to be protected from everything. The boy is known as the neighborhood "Mama's boy". Also, another strange let's have a character crush on Luna thing, because sure. The parents lied and said they were refinishing their floors and she wants to see for some reason- this was after she asked if they were going to her "ban swings" meeting. Lisa destroys Luan's jokes and decides to find away to have science out funny comedy.
Now that we have this, let's smash some of the plot together. The parents want Lincoln and Clyde to not do their stunt while Hudson is around because they fear his month. They find away to have Luna spend time with Hudson to make sure they can still do their thing. How many times will Luan ask "Have you heard about the restaurant on the moon?"? Lisa has decided to create comedy through Todd thus yes using science for comedy.
Hudson zones out like he wants Red Ryder B-B gun and it connects to him wanting to impress Luna so he decides to jump the new Lincoln and Clyde ramp. Lana and Lola got their fail, and Hudson has landed on the ground with some pain.
Luna makes his pain worse by saying she already has a someone. The Louds are trying hide Hudson's injury from the parents and they can't tell Hudson's Mom either. Thanks to Todd being filled with joke software , he can't doctor Todd because plot. Lucy wants to amputate the boy's leg - for some reason. They have Clyde be a baker doctor and have him doctor (heh) a cast out of bread because ok then.
Thanks to Luan posting the video Hudson's Mom already knows. Luan has messed with Todd and made him depressed. Thankfully, the two of them seem to bond. There's also a strange background plot of Lynn trying to hurt herself in a stunt for the fail video, because she can't be told she can't do anything. Uhh might not be the best thinking. Hudson decides to stand up to his mom and wants more freedom.
This episode was alright. I have to mention I liked the part where Lisa and Luan get over their difference and have a little fun together, it's an interesting pairing and something interesting to see explored. I think the reactions the Loud parents had were funny. Lynn's subplot kind of went nowhere and had no finish. It was good that Hudson told his mom she was being too much so I'm glad the character liking Luna thing worked better here than with Liam as part of making Hudson realize he's tired of his mom being over-bearing.
The different parts coming together worked very well when it felt like the episode was throwing out a lot in the start. The boys working on their ramp, the twins trying to get a fail for money helping Luan and Lynn's fake fails, Lisa deciding to prove Luan wrong, the parents being afraid of Hudson's Mom, and Hudson being there all fell in place well to make the story interesting in that way. It's not a wow episode, but it still had charm.
