The Really Loud House: Season 2: Episode 4: Last Friend Standing

 The Really Loud House  Nickelodeon

Episode 4: Last Friend Standing

Apparently, the previous episode plays into this one at least at the start where Lincoln is stewing for a month that he and Charlie have broken up. This will not be the entire plot of the episode, thankfully. It does play into the start though. I do like how Clyde finds ways to make Lincoln get more less stewing.  There's the actual main plot, Lynn was invited to a sleep over, for most this seems to be a normal thing that I think still exists in real life? Right? Anyway, the problem here is that Lynn gets intense at sleepovers and has caused bodily harm at them.  The family is stunned and scared that this one would go the same.

Even worse for Lynn, she had really not been invited to these things anymore and this team didn't know that.  The family is concerned and wants to help her. Lincoln's misery does limit him. Lana and Lola think up an idea that 5 of them dress up like Lynn and pretend to be her and maybe make a better impression. Not sure that's a plan that makes sense. (scared)

Clyde finds a way to get Lincoln do a plan, that's saying different available ladies could be a bonus.  Lincoln decides to make a better plan. He got the sleepover to come over to the Loud House. (which makes it easier to film) They make the house completely safe from Lynn going competitive.

This does end up with thing going well, too well.  It's fun to see how the Loud siblings, with Lincoln doing things from a the attic like a commander, do stuff to make sure that nothing happens to cause the party to go south.   As I said before, with time being left in this episode thing have to go... the we go.

A pillow fight happens and Lynn ends up doing things with pillows that would work for the CIA to take down enemies. Someone also still thinks pillows use feathers. Every one has left, except one girl , who is named Zia, and a brave soul. The rest of the episode is now focused on making sure Zia doesn't leave before morning. This sounds bad out of context.

Lynn even finds out that they did a plan.  Then the plan changes into Lynn wanting help to make Zia a friend. They do the old fashioned have a character get lines from a thing and have it go wrong because apparently some people forget context.  It gets scary for the other Louds as they see she has a soccer ball, but it seems to work that Zia somehow is able to diffuse and confuse Lynn.

Lincoln shows up to make sure there's no death happening here and Zia decides to use him to show Lynn an example of something. The Zia and Lynn interactions are nice and they are even doing some Lincoln and Zia interacting, hhmst.

I think the concept that Lynn is so intense that she has a hard time with getting friends is something, though it is different from the main show, that does surprise me in a way. I said this already, but I am glad that episode isn't about Lincoln being sad and something about finding a rebound girl or something like that. Though that does call into question, what they were doing with Lincoln at the end and with Zia. So was the first part mentioning Lincoln and Charlie breaking up there to put into our brain and minds and faces that Lincoln is free and ready to go again?

I don't think this show is that invested in giving off things beyond maybe Lincoln and his friends , at times, and Bobby with Lori, where they are like using the animated show as a framing for the sisters' relationships with friends. So it might be their way of setting up something with Lincoln than trying to invest in the idea of Lynn having a friend.

This episode was fun with how everything was set up. Lincoln doing a command thing and making sure that whole thing went smoothly.  Lynn not getting mad when she finds out her family was doing that and instead giving a good sense of a vulnerable moment was a nice touch.  I liked how the family had a hard time with a plan without having Lincoln there. It's a good episode , fun moments, nice flow. 7.4/10.

That's it for now, tune in next time, when we sue the Louds for causing our daughter to need thousands of dollars in reconstructive surgery and made our son fear ever leaving the house, and probably breaking our TV.
