The Really Loud House: Season 1: Episode 17: Sweet Dreams are Made of Cheese

 The Really Loud House  Nickelodeon

Episode 17: Sweet Dreams are Made of Cheese

In this episode  Lincoln.... and Clyde were bored after Lincoln's family went out for a Saturday to their activities. The start is interesting as something has happened and Lincoln needs to rewind it back to show a Saturday morning. Lilly wants to ride a scooter, and Lynn Sr. says that she's too little, meaning too young, to do it, but she really wants to.   There's also where Rita wants Lola and Lana to eat broccoli, but blah you know.  (Minus 0.3 pts for that since it's so over done) Though I will add that sometimes broccoli isn't fun because of how it's cooked and that makes the taste un-fun.  What? Oh yeah, tangent over. Luan can't find Mr. Coconuts, Luna doesn't want to make a jingle, Lynn has a big game,  Lisa is trying to do a rat experiment,  and yeah this the set up for what will come up later.

Now back to bored, Lincoln and Clyde. Lucy's friends, well 3 of them, show up and this makes the duo want to check out her meeting. Because everybody's looking for something. The acting and make-up [ especially for Boris] is well matched to their animated counter parts.  They get more impressed when Haiku is able to make the others levitate.  Then Boris presents his family's wheel of cheese, hence the title of the is episode - the cheese part. It came from his grandfather who emigrated to the US. (he traveled the world on the seven seas)  The cheese glows. It's a magic cheese with a story about a guy who put too much sadness and woe into this cheese, and the milk came from a cow that killed the guy's wife. (Need that movie)  There's a missing page and Lincoln decides to think that the sentence ending with super- before it gets cut off, is super powers. Because that's how that works. Who am I to disagree?

They don't want to eat the cheese, it smells funny.  (Probably because it seemed to have been made in the 1500's) But they still want to use the cheese and the cheese wants to be used by them, so Clyde gets to make a cheesecake. I'm glad this version has Clyde still be a baker. (Lots of butter)  Because Clyde has rules , they have to wait 15 minutes and this gives the duo to find out the rest of the information that will be important for the episode.  The cheese makes everyone sleepy.

Uh oh, good thing they didn't eat it, but the plot so... here comes the sweet dreams part of the title. The family comes back home together at the same time, how convenient. The true moral is don't eat a random cheesecake someone made without their permission. I guess some of them wanted to be abused by the cheese, instead. (You are really forcing these lines now)  The Louds eat the cheese and they get sweet dreams.  The cheese makes them sleepy for 100 years. (I need a good sleep like that)  Lincoln and Clyde find the others not holding their heads up and movin' on.

Lincoln asks Lucy what could be done and well they he... and Clyde have to enter the nightmares of the others and wake them up from the inside. This is that Simpsons Halloween segment that was parodying "Nightmare on Elm Street".  I like the random doo-wop moment, that was fun. (adding 0.4 pts)

The episode has Lana and Lola being the twins from "The Shining" (hey do you want us to get sued?)  They are being uh haunted? by giant broccoli, get it? Because earlier... yeah.  After solving that, Lincoln goes to Lisa's dream and she's being experimented on  by the mouse.  (Go mice!) Clyde ended up in Luna's dream where she's stuck in a TV making jingles. (commercials have jingles still?)  They are both able to find some fun solutions to get this to work.  (minus 0.2pts for something)  Leni's nightmare is apparently just well nothing, I do like the song usage of Len's "Steal my Sunshine". (Adding 0.4pts)

Luan's nightmare is she fears not being funny without Mr. Coconuts. Her dream is a fun sitcom thing.  Lucy wakes up the duo, because it's close to sundown, but there is a little problem... oops a Big problem. Giant Lilly.  Again remember the big fear Lynn Sr. had was that Lilly is growing up and he fears that.  This makes a sweet moment where Lincoln helps his sad father, and Lucy helping by bringing Lilly in.  This was was really nice.

I think this was a good episode.  I like how all the stuff at the start, comes into play for the nightmares. I think it was fun to see Lucy's group in this form.  There was a lot of fun to this episode. The different ways to get over the fears were well done.  Episode had fun moments and I enjoyed how it went.   I'll give the episode a 8/10.

That's it for now, tune in next time when the broccoli gets tired along with the mice and they finally eat us!
