The Really Loud House: Season 1: Episode 14: Better Together

 The Really Loud House Nickelodeon

Episode 14: Better Together

I have the strange wonderment of if the network wasn't against the idea of a paint ball fight but found it OK to have the characters in a spitball fight, because apparently that's -better?  Unless someone really just went with a spitball fight on the first try. Both ways I'm concerned. Lincoln and Clyde are working on a spitball fighting tech because they are going to be in a war , like against Liam and Rusty. (So like 0.5pts off for the spitball stuff, just all of it.)

Clyde's dads want him to get into a special thing called the BETR program which means Bright Exceptional, Talented, and Remarkable program. Which if they were truly bright, exceptional, talented, and remarkable they would have thought up what the other letters of Better could mean.  (ouch) This will be a our plot driver as Clyde is working to get into the program then eventually does get into the program which will make him not be focused on the spitball thing and drive a wedge between him and Lincoln.

But first, our other plot.  Lynn Sr. ends up getting a song stuck in his head after Lilly wants to hear it multiple times. (They are making fun of Baby Shark while being on the network that bought the rights to a series based off that)  His b-plot is minor but fun.   He offers first a week without chores to any of his kids who can help him figure out how to get the song out of his head.

There's a big test and Clyde passes it, while Lincoln was too focused on the spit ball thing.  Again this makes it where Clyde gets into the BETR program which starts to do the part where it separates him from Lincoln.  Lincoln starts to get annoyed but realizes he should try again for the test and  oops he got very bad score. He's been demoted. This is a weird school/ society/ whatever.  Then we get Lincoln get bullied by children. I get that they wanted to show Lincoln being dropped a grade and have him stand out, but you'd think that'd be 5th grade and not make him look he's in a 2nd grade being bullied by 2nd graders.  (You'd think that)

Lynn Sr. has upped his offer to help get that song out of his head, and that's to offer cash. These offer some and humorous moments.

Lincoln dreams that it's the future and Clyde  is rich and successful and Lincoln is a janitor and gets fired. This is episode is weird.  I do wonder if this is a middle school, then how are there younger kids at the middle school if Lincoln is in 6th grade... there's alot going on here.   Then the spitball thing starts and Lincoln isn't doing to well.  Clyde is in his fancy class at the same exact time and hearing about Mark Anthony whose friend Julius Caeser was just killed, and he's preparing for war in the Battle of Philippi.  I see what they are doing. I kind of like they went for a random history reference, well played.

Clyde can see his friend and decides he as to help (classic McBride.).  This episode is still weird. Then the two friends get in trouble, but the principal and the teacher from the BETR program are impressed by the machine they made.  I do like how that played into the episode.  He also wants to make a new program called BEST meaning Brilliant Exceptional Scientists Technicians. (He finally figured out something)

Rita helps Lynn Sr. get over his song problem.

This episode was weird, gross-ish, but fun. It's another interesting Clyde and Lincoln dynamic episode   where the friendship is tested. Lincoln is a little odd this episode in where he really  seems to be so focused on the spitball thing he seems to not be very focused on doing well on other things.  It plays well.   I thought the spitball fight action was pretty funny.  It's a fun little episode I give 7.6/10.

That's it for now, tune in next time when we get charge Lincoln and Clyde for dry cleaning.
