The Really Loud House: Season 1: Episode 13: What's a Mother to Redo

 The Really Loud House  Nickelodeon

Episode 13: What's a Mother to Redo

It's Mother's Day. Well, that didn't go well, and Lynn Sr. wants to re-do it. That's  the goal of a mad man.  Rita doesn't seem interested in the idea like at all- she wants to read her book that's been trying to read for years. (She will not be able to read that book)  The family gets to work on the re-do mother's day and Lynn Sr. gets kidnapped by Howard and Harold. They take him to a spa to try and see if it would be a good gift for Rita. (They have a strange investment in this)

Lincoln and Clyde are working on a documentary about the day, we end up getting Lori, Leni, and Luna working on a play and they all want to play as Rita. Lisa is working on a cake, Lola is trying organize her Mom's clothes, Lana is trying to kill a fly that's been bothering her mother for weeks (Bing searches to see how long common fly lives),  Lucy, surprisingly, is working on tap dancing, so is Luan, and Lynn is working on the mom's fitness.

This episode with the set up goes really in a mad cap and fun paced episode.  The main part everything seems to be going very well for Rita like everything goes wrong and to her mostly. What does keep the episode on the line of good and not feeling like it wants to abuse Rita is that stuff isn't intentional they are trying to do something nice for her, it's just going badly.

The character interactions are also fun here Lori, Leni, and Luna work well here as they end up putting the craziest play ever, as they all play what feels like an unhinged Rita.  I'm surprised someone went with tap dancing for Lucy, but it was fun to see her and Luan compete against each other in a "tap-off".   The whole episode also shows one thing: how dedicated Rita is to her family  and the episode did a great job at that as well. I liked the balance of the kids, doing best intentions while being a little to wrapped up in it.

Rita tires to get out of the house for some solace and runs into Lynn who wants her to workout... on an obstacle course.  Lynn Sr.'s part of the episode was also kind of funny and the ending part of it where he finds out about how much the whole spa thing would cost for real was funny.  Eventually, Rita is like grrrrrrr and storms off.  She's justified- it's not been the best day.

Lincoln and Clyde being an aware of most of what happened, show up to present the documentary. Nothing stopped them, not even the others trying to get their attention. Their video presents a really sweet part and good way to wrap up things.

This was a fun episode, the plot was interesting and enjoyed how everything flowed. It also knew what to do to show a bad day with out it feeling mean to Rita, but making you want to empathize with her.  It's fun to see what the characters do here. There were some great funny moments as well, I'll mention the part where Rita sees Luna, Lori, and Leni dressed up like her and talking in unison is a great example.

I think this was a great episode 8/10.

That's it for now, tune in next time when we find out  that fly had friends and they're mad!
