The Loud House: Season 6 : Episodse 23: Pop Pop the Question/Lynn and Order

 The Loud House Nickelodeon

Episode 23a: Pop Pop the Question

Back in season 3 the show introduced a girlfriend for Albert, the grandfather of the family- from Rita's side, and Mertyl has appeared a few times since. This episode has 'Pop-Pop' decide to announce he's going to pop the question to Mertyl.  The Loud kids don't like how he's going to make his proposal so they decide to intervene. This bring up the question of they don't know her much ( we don't know her much either).  This causes the Loud kids to want to intervene and found out more about her and see that in her room at the retirement home that she has a secret room and pictures of her with some other husbands.

Later, they go back and home and use the information they collected to conclude that she's a black widow.  (The show wants to call her a red tarantula so minus 0.2pts)  Now they fear that she will take Pop Pop to the highway to heaven. (It's not like he has money or something)  They get ran off the road by a van. They eventually their grandfather get pushed off by Mertyl and they tell her that they know everything about her.  Since this is a different show, they aren't going to have grandfather murder and no black widows. (no fun)  They do have a twist though, she's a secret agent or was. Anyway, they were going bungie jumping and they propose to each other.

Finally, an episode that takes the idea of someone being suspected of something and it not being that but something else that's at least is an interesting touch. The episode also rides wildly and plays with what it can do while staying in the limits of being the kind of show it is. (though.... hmm)  I do think it's also an interesting thing bring into the show the idea of the grandfather and his girlfriend possibly soon marrying on the series.   It's an interesting mad cap episode with some fun to it.  I give it 7.5/10.

Episode 23b: Lynn and Order

I loved the episode "Cow Pie Kid" as time went on it's a really great episode. I also liked the idea of having a Lincoln friend and a Lincoln sister having a plot and having Liam and Lynn together is a nice affair. I'm happy they they decided to have these two again do an episode together.

This episode decides to pull a  "Filmore" and Lynn is a cop like hall monitor. She goes around doing cop stuff but at school. Mostly giving students demerits for infractions. But now she's being assigned a partner, that's Liam. Like those cop films.

The episode started with Lynn being shown a serious no nonsense hall monitor.  So when Liam is added in, you see that Liam decides to be a bit more open and understanding. The examples of a student being seen in the hallways  after class : Lynn wants to demerit her , but Liam finds out why she's in the the hallway, well she's lost.  He helps her.  Liam finds ways to help when problems aren't a student breaking a rule. It shows  a nice contrast. What I also like is that whilst Lynn is over the top in her ways she's not mean about it and just believes that's the best way for there be order.  An episode like this could have shown there is fault to both ways of Liam and Lynn's monitoring, and that would have been fine. I do think that this episode instead did a tactful way of showing the character interactions as  work through. Liam would probably hand out demerits if he felt the situation warranted it , but his looking first before acting works well to show that some situations aren't as clear as they look.

Lynn later finds out the demerits don't really have much meaning, but the principal.  She is annoyed with Liam's ways but can't have him be taken off the job. She decides to find something that'll distract him.

The episode at the start showed Bolhofner had a bobcat as a pet, this comes back into play later when Lynn has Liam on a squirrel chase to distract him. She had cut a whole in the fence to set up the squirrel chase this allows the bobcat to run through after he smells the tuna dish that Chef Pat was throwing out. Lynn can't handle the situation, Liam is able to figure out how to handle it and is able to help contain the animal.  Liam's animal knowledge and calmer approach come in to play nicely.

Lynn  admits what she did, but  it ends with a nice hug and they now work together in a nice bond.  This was a great episode, it flows well and the character bonding with Liam and Lynn continues to be nice. I think this episode ends up being one of the best of this season. I really liked how it flowed with the characters giving a nice interface into their thoughts and how they work. I think it was nice to see this interaction. Now I need to see more of that because show did it twice it needs more.  I give the episode 8/10.

That's it for now, tune in next time when we talk about the Liam and Lynn spinoff series "School Patrol".
