The Loud House: Season 6: Episode 16: Crashed Course/ A Stella Performance

 The Loud House Nickelodeon

Episode 16a: Crashed Course

This episode starts with Lincoln being terrified of the mail, since Ronnie Anne sent him a package. This is not the plot of the episode.  Lisa commits federal offenses and reads Lori's mail using an imaging scanner, by accident. She and Lincoln notices  Lori has bad greats at golf college. This makes the other siblings concerned, and remember the golf college thing.

It is nice to see the siblings concerned about the eldest sister and that's the driving force of the plot. Which this episode is another for this season too, a siblings come together to do something or help another in this case without that one knowing, because sure.  They decide to go the golf college to fix the problem they think exists of Lori not taking her work seriously. Odd they don't think Lori could be having a breakdown at golf college, but alright.

The show becomes self-aware and has Luan say not the spy stuff again for Lincoln. They don't want Lori to see them that's also key. They go through these gags with fake  beards and stuff . (I'm also surprised at how much they wrote Lana to be concerned by everything)  They have to get her devices to stop so she won't be distracted on whatever. (Golf Math?)  Oh no! something else, Leni overhears that Lori is going to go hang out, so they have to stop her.  (Let her fry is what I says! )

Bobby appears and they get rid of him, and they overhear that Lori is going to study and they go back home. Then Lori's mail comes over again and they peep in her mail, this time really are commiting federal offenses, and see that Lori has gotten a 62. (pay attention this)

Lincoln, Lisa, Lana, and Lynn (my top 4 favorite louds in order) decide to pretend to be Lori, while the rest go and distract Lori, to do her test for her. Then they realize the golf college is a golf college.  The test is a game of golf and that 62 last time was of course a golf score.  This is like one long build up to a punchline. Now they work to get Lori back to school, so she won't fail her test for real.

Then everything turns out well,   This was another family does something episode, which this season has been doing a lot, it was also another misunderstanding but with heart plot.  I think the fun part is the gags, the episode wants you to have a more relaxed not  wondering about the story. Though, I will say I realized the golf college grading thing before they did, but not too early, so maybe that's something. The episode is pretty funny.  7/10

Episode 16b: A Stella Performance

Hey look, a Stella episode.  The other friends have been getting their own needed stuff and it was now her turn.  (Yes there will be some comparison)   Stella has won an award at the science fair for making grilled cheese more complicated than it should be, but it's cool. (petty posting, aren't we?) Now there's a chance for her to try to win the state and has to give a speech. This freaks her out because she  has fear of public speaking because of past incidents of calling a teacher mother. (the teacher wasn't her mother for clarification)

She doesn't want to do the speech , so it's up to the friends to help. I like how the episode gives Rusty, Liam, and Zach roles to really pick up on here and not just have it be Lincoln.  Rusty who is a naturally cocky and confident  character and really exudes that helps Stella be  more confident, then Liam comes in to help with having her practice infront of his animals.  Zach comes in with hypnotizing her, bringing in something he's done before for an extra dash of cool points.  I liked that they've followed these characters uh characterizations  so well to make this all work out well. It wasn't reliant upon  Lincoln or Clyde so it really makes this feel more like they have confidence in the others as much.  This makes it weird for the Stella episode  a little, but it using her bonds with the others well and shows that.

Anyway, Zach's thing seems to work, but there's a problem: Stella starts to act strange.  (At least she doesn't have stage freight)  Zach goes to investigate and the hypnosis tape he gave her, while it's time for the presentation.    He comes back and tells her what was going on, he figured out he recorded over parents tape for being abducted by aliens and she got that in her mind and acted as if she was being abducted.  The principal also proves helpful in helping Stella try to get over her freight.  She apparently does well, but doesn't win because the judges were lactose intolerant. (what?)

I think this episode was really good, there was some good interactional work with the non big-two friends, good relatable plot, and funny parts and well done  pacing. This was a good episode for Stella.  I give it 8/10.

That's it for now, tune in next time when we buy Zach's mom's tapes and learn how what to do when abducted by aliens.
