The Loud House: Season 6: Episode 9: Time Trap!

 The Loud House Nickelodeon

Episode 9: Time Trap!

Here's an idea for episode, where they remind me of a "Fairly Odd Parents" episode but with a vase instead of a trophy and ... hold on let's get to that.  Lori is here (alright then) and she is doing golf in the house, which I mean isn't a very smart decision, that unsmart decision will lead to the flame to the wick of  the plot.

There are some nice moments in the start of the episode where the siblings are helping out here and doing a their own roles. A vase ends up breaking . ("Mom always said not to play ball in the house") and then they mention that this vase has been broken before many times. Why is the vase important? It's a wedding gift, that's all we really know about it, doesn't give a clue of why it's important except someone gave it to them for their wedding and that's it.   I would have liked a little more on why it's important but eh, (minus 0.5pts for that Lynn moment, we stick our power rule here)  The parents give them different periods of grounding for breaking the thing.  (Hello, I wonder why the parents keep the vase in bad spots if it's important to them, keep in their room then, and not in high traffic eras of a house where kids might break it even by accident, in other words they are stupid)

The flashback groundings give them a reason to worry because the parents might ground them for a long time. (For their very special vase we don't know why it's special besides wedding gift that that they don't smartly put somewhere to keep safe.)  So the logical idea is to copy from the Fairly Odd Parents that Lisa and Todd, the robot, decide that the vase must go and never exist in the first place.  (Logical) Like Timmy going and making sure his father doesn't win his special trophy (which we at least figured out why it  was important him) instead of just going back 10 minutes and stopping themselves from breaking the thing. (We're getting mileage from the Brady Bunch and Fairly Odd Parents today)

Lisa's plan is to go back in time and stop the parents from getting the vase, and a funny part is that Lynn asks a smart question.  (plus 0.1pts for that) Lisa tells them that she planned for that by switching out the vase for  a toaster. (the toaster of time) Smartly, Lisa decides to go alone and tells them that they are far too reckless to go with here. (She should have said that earlier with them playing golf in the house so minus 0.2pts)  I do like some of the stuff going on with Lisa like the garage door failing, Lisa putting on a tux and being proud with her work. (adding 0.1pts)

She turned the van into a time machine and turns back time, because she found a way, to take back the words that hurt you, so you'd stay.  Yep she has turned back the clock, bringing the wheels of time to stop, back to the days when life was so much better, and her parents were getting married.  I also like the moment where Zach's parents are there and see the van randomly show up, that's important, Now I wonder what will go wrong... Leni enters the picture.

The other Louds decided to sneak into the van because of course. Instead of turning around, she lets them come with her. ( I thought she was supposed to be smart, even I know this is a bad idea)  Of course, they don't follow the plan and instead Lynn destroys gifts, Leni makes a mess on Rita's dress, Luna destroys the music and messes up Chunk's time, (hey it's Chunk) Luan makes a nun fart (she's going to hell now, and also minus 0.2 pts) Lola makes flower girls cry and just to top of it, Lilly seeks cakes and destroys the wedding. (Tommy and Chuckie never destroyed a wedding in their quest for cake)  I'm sure that will cause nothing.

Also keep your eyes on Zach's parents.  When they come back and we'll be back after the jump.

Upon their return we can see that something about the Loud House has changed by glance, I love that detail, and the coloring of the world seems slightly colder than the normal warmer lightning. It's a great way to show that something is off. The house is also cleaned up as a good clue. Very nicely done.

The kids notice that the house doesn't have a dog door, no key under the mat (I know how to rob the Louds now)  they decide to enter through the chimney (please don't do this yourself, you will die from it, except Santa)  The living room is different (it's cleaner). It sure takes them awhile to get the attention. The twins' room is now their gym and the parents are in pictures by themselves. (Happier than ever)  The parents come home, or I guess not parents, and give exposition,  Lynn and Rita are scared some random kids are in their house. (get the gun ,honey)

I like that how they screwed up the wedding, thus ending up making it where the Louds swore (gasp) off having kids (oh) and that Lynn and Rita instead have become Mr. and Mrs. Dink (Doug bros show up).  The details for Lynn having all his hair and less stomach  and  Rita having more hour glass figure and looking less frazzled are a good touch.  Though, we're not going to ask how if they never existed then how did they go back in time and mess up the wedding? (nope, my brain hurts)

Lisa goes to check next door and Mr. Grouse. Another good detail is since the Louds don't have kids, he doesn't seem as grumpy, woks out more, and has his hair still. (wow)

Grouse mentions what I said earlier about the reason why, so I win. Lori disappears. (1 Boy...9 girls, for now) Lisa mentions that they will disappear for ever.  (this would make a great series finale)  Hey, plot device what are you doing here? You have to make this plot a little more dramatic? Alright...  the van is gone right when they need it but (big but) they are only going away themselves when the plot needs it.

Now they have to build a new time machine and more Louds go away. Luna finds out that she ruined Chunk's musical dreams then disappears. The thing you'll notice is they are going in birth order (and great for the plot timing)

They go to Flip's to find out it's not the same. We also get to see Chandler is friends with Lincoln's friends now. I wish they had gone with a different universe nicer Chandler , but they are cowards to write that.  Cowards.  There's Zach's parents they were important for this because... but first Flip. So Flip runs a health store  and doesn't go by Flip, apparently he's a hippy without the Loud kids around. The reason he's this way is because of Leni messing up the bride's dress (again don't question the time-y whime-y stuff )

Justice for alternate timeline Zach's parents! They have a reason to capture the Louds and think they are aliens because well, they saw a random van show up , they saw a random van disappear , and they believe in Aliens it's all in logic.  Lincoln was able to escape but he's gone. (Show's over, series finale after all , I'm going on now) They also have the important things to make a time machine. (Convenient)   Lisa convinces them to let her out  of their fancy holding bubble.  They manage to get out and Lucy uses her last few minutes of life to distract them. (Why did you write it like that?)

The twins are gone for good measure. Lisa goes back in time and stops the Louds that went  back in time in the first place by locking them in a closet, probably to die. (what?)  Then Lilly shows up and convinces the Louds to have kids in the future. Then the Louds that remember the bad time line exist now, while the other Loud kids ...uh die in the closet never to be seen again. (Makes one think, doesn't it?)

The parents come home and the find out about the vase and the kids get grounded for two months.

Like Camped! I think this plot could have worked as "The Loud House Movie" because while it doesn't feel rushed it does feel like it could have had more too, kind of makes you want it to have more. I think that's a good thing it doesn't feel like it's over plotted for it's 22 minutes, but does leave room for where it could have done more. (If not a movie, a 44 minute special) there's some space to see more of an alternate world, then again that might be more liking of a alternate world stories. I might be wrong and 22 minutes was prefect enough something something.

For time travel, the story was pretty concise, made some sense, though my question : "Though, we're not going to ask how if they never existed then how did they go back in time and mess up the wedding?" can maybe be handwaved. It is still funny. I liked how the plot worked to show a world without the kids could be and making sense. The parents would be richer and have more time to travel and stuff because of the dual income and no kids thing. Mr. Grouse would be sleeping better and happier in a way because of not worrying about his loud neighbors. Flip and Chunk's changes were a good showing of the impact of the actions Luna and Leni did whilst in the past. (My question has been murdered) I do wish that they had done something with Chandler and do maybe a nicer Chandler or a maybe Clyde and the friends boss him around something  to show a little difference, but they are cowards and want to make me sad at the same time. (Cowards!)

Interesting to have this weirder plotline, then again season 5  ushered in the strange ideas for this show, and maybe a better idea than just "Oh No! the Vase!" if you want a basic oh no ! the vase plot there are is "The Brady Bunch" episode "Confessions, Confessions". I think it was a good episode, I do wish there were some slight different things like, I want to know why the parents care so much about this vase, more than just it was a wedding present. Like the vase came from grandma, who is no longer with us, or some special friend or something a little line didn't have to be much, but I need to know why I should care about the vase.  That's probably why they did time travel as the main plot, they didn't want to do some background lore on something. (cowards!)

My Chandler line stands too because I don't hate the character, it feels like they are messing with me to have had him to be nice for alternate universe, I'm tired.  Anyway otherwise, I have minor issues and don't make the episode bad in my eyes, anyway everything else I've praised or attacked above there so  I give it 8/10.

That's it for now, tune in next time when I travel back in time and end up making the Loud House my self.
