Episode 11a: Race Against the Machine
An episode about automation to replace the human workforce? It's also an episode focused on Stanley Chang? Wow. Stanley hasn't had much as going in plot direction for the series so it seems to do it here. This episode about Stanley's boss who reminds me of Mr. Spacely from the Jetsons, testing out a robot to run the GLART system (the train public transit of the city). The episode starts by showing how much Stanley loves his job (if the other episodes he's been in hasn't shown that) and establishing he has personal touches he does and interacts with the riders, to show's not like a cold un-feeling robot.
At first, he thought there was going to be a fun race with him and robot to see who can do their train route the quickest, and Sid, Adelaide, Ronnie Anne, etc over hear the boss talking to the robot (which was odd) and doing and evil laugh because we need to make him the bad guy and show it. The kids help Mr. Chang with the race. There's Ronnie Anne and Sid helping Stanley himself, try to make his train go faster in wacky ways, like giving it coffee. Ironic that Breakfast Bot, a robot, is also there to help. Adelaide and Carl try to make the robot, which has a name, but I'm not invested in the name, is slowed.
This works, but the plot says that now all the kids have something to do at the same time, for convenience and now Stanley and Breakfast Bot have to try and keep up against the other robot, and they were behind by a few seconds and the evil boss man , who also has a name but I'm not invested in the name, decides to fire Stanley. (Where's the union!)
Automation has taken over, and the wave of the future has... so are there other conductors who've been fired or is this the start of a pilot program.... and poor Stanley has been... and like I thought public transit systems had unions and don't the taxpayers have to know about the robots and was this voted on?...replaced... will the family be alright, did he get a pension? (help)
Thankfully, the robot begins to foul up (without causing death) and crashes like a Windows Vista computer. (Making Vista jokes in 2022) Now, Stanley is needed and he springs into action. He saves the day and gets rehired (since that's how that works).
The episode is pretty fun though a little weird, but fun and makes one think... what? I give it 7.3/10.

Episode 11b : My Fair Cat Lady
The blob of cats that appears on the show get some focus with Adelaide getting a lead role in an episode. (Also this episode really wants to beat up Laird, minus 0.3 pts) The landlord of the apartment building is going to have the cats sent to animal control because they annoy him. Adelaide is worried and decides to help the cats.
This episode is weird, we pretty much see a blob of cats that can shape shift most of the episode. It allows for their strangeness to take up the episode. The other part of the episode is you do get Adelaide's charm as a character. Her attempts are sweet, creative and fun. I had to laugh at the cats asserting dominance to a gator so yay.
The cats form a T-Rex shape and cause a commotion where the animal control guy shows up. Then the episode decides to get crazy. So ,remember in this world that rats also can glom together. This episode turns into a giant cat blob versus rat blob monster movie. (The episode is that weird) Giant monster battle, then Adelaide realizes that it's better for the city area to have the cats around because of the rats (episode doesn't talk about circle of life) and convinces the animal control to not control the animals.
It wasn't a bad episode, it feels like they know their show is ending and went "screw it , let's just do something mad". Adelaide gets a nice showing without her family members (mostly) and Carl. This was good . I give it 7.5/10
