The Loud House: Season 6: Episode 7: Snoop Scoop/ Eye Can't

 The Loud House  Nickelodeon

    Episode 7a: Snoop Scoop

This another "Action News Team" (TM) episode and they have apparently  a) gone beyond school news and b) now getting beaten out by local news reporter Katherine Mulligan.  Which also weird. The group notices that Mulligan is somehow able to get the same stories they've been going after. (Mick Swagger shows up)   So the team gets fed up after they could tell the important news of spaghetti pizza being discontinued.  (Royal Woods has a low murder rate)

They decide to look for the leaker. (the hose?) So they set up a fake tip for Chef Pat, who isn't the leaker. (duh) They try art teacher I've not seen before and well everyone we see through this is not the leaker. (duh)  Rusty says something smart instead of waiting for the rat , check out the nest : follow Katherine. (that's an idea)

We get following news lady montage.  There's some funny moments in this episode too, they had some enjoyable spice. So they end up thinking the principal is the leaker and decide to do a fake book of tips and see if she'll take that too Katherine. (This is not going to go well, is it?)  They found out that principal is not  (duh) and almost get their news thing canned. (oops) Thankfully, Katherine wants to help them out  and not mad at them.

Then we find out that the little mention of Rusty's Dad dating earlier, ended up being more where Rusty's Dad is dating Katherine and it was him giving her the tips by accident, thinking he was sharing hot gossip.   Everything ends well.

This is a good episode, it uses the friends in their other noted plot idea of just going around and doing news stuff. (Do hope they find other things for them to do in the future) The episode has some funny moments and really does bring in a nice little twist, though maybe noticing the mention of Rusty's dad dating might be a clue, I think they do these tight things were little lines that seem to be throwaways end up not being throwaways.

It does fall into them doing a jumping to conclusions thing, but it works to an extent thanks to Katherine being so understanding. It also shows the group's dynamic a little more and it's fun. 8/10.

  More after the Jump

Episode 7b: Eye Can't

Lisa's eyesight is failing. (There you go click bait, way down here, after you've already clicked , some twice)  The parents have noticed that Lisa has been bumping into stuff and her ending up not petting the right creatures. The parents tell her she has to go to the eye doctor and apparently, she has one fear: the fear of  ophthalmologists. (eye see) Which I do find interesting for Lisa's character.

Todd, the robot, suggests that she make her own new glasses, these new glasses don't work well. (She doesn't die at least)  The parents also don't like the idea of their daughter falling down the stairs so they say she still has to go to the eye doctor. Lisa's plan to kill the car didn't work, because of Mr. Grouse's car being used as back up.

Lisa rigs the traffic lights and the weather. (That's my world) They made it to the office alive. Lisa decides to scheme to get out of there.  The episode ends up becoming a Mr. Magoo episode. Lisa wonders getting into weird things happening.  This  episode is weird.  After Lisa thinking the mall is a train station and Florida,  (Todd gets distracted) she ends up outside and meeting a bear. (roar) She finally figures out the bear was a bear.  The parents find Lisa and they go to the eye doctor and everything ends up well.

So this episode decides to give Lisa a more child-ish fear of a doctor, this case the eye doctor. She does mention her fear is irrational, and I do think it fits a little. She's always been a mixture character of two forces combined overly smart but still a young child.  It think it fits, and I guess regular doctor (calm down) and dentist would be a little weird for her to be afraid.  It doesn't really do any parent and daughter connection to help her with her fear, they could have figured she was afraid, that's a missed opportunity. The episode could have been worked to see how the parents help Lisa get over her fear or something , but we get weird "blind" person going around things plot.  I do like how the fear of a bear helped her get over the other fear so yay.

I give the episode 7/10 but my Lisa bias comes to play 8/10.

That's it for now tune next time, when we expose the Big glasses but Lincoln and his team try to under cut us, so we just sue them.
