The Loud House Season 5: Episode 24: Runaway Mcbride/ High Crimes

The  Loud House Nickelodeon

     Episode 24a: Runaway McBride

Clyde doesn't want spend and evening with his Dads, and would rather spend time with his friends because he's a middle schooler. That's the episode. I'm out...(get back over here)  They are bothered by this and decide the best plan is to have everybody come to their house instead.  Their plan is to recreate their favorite Renaissance paintings, which the kids reject because almost anyone would reject that.

Now the dads decide the best plan is to "how do you fellow kids?" ,but first they go out and try to see what the kids are doing. They also do a plan to do things where the kids don't see them. They are also dumb enough to listen to Flip (but so is most of the town so...)

Anyway, the plan they went with was why not bring the stuff from the places the kids like and move it here so they won't leave, for like one day, they have to leave sometime, THERE ARE LAWS. The friends decide to stay the evening .  Then the dads want them to spend more evenings but they have other plans, the logical thing would be say "oh well, we had our fun, and you ..." oh apparently they go with plan E, bring more stuff in to make sure the kids can watch a movie at home.

They later hire a DJ and have the kids roller skate a home. (how much does this cost? )  Also the guys with the fancy breakable stuff should have figured that house rollerblading is bad combo.  The next day  they go with a stupider plan. I've seen the gag of a cartoon having people flood something to swim in, sometimes it's funny, here it just kind of hurts.  They didn't want Clyde to go the pool with his friends so they flood their backyard and then the water breaks into their house because smart. (I hope the insurance company drops them )

Then Clyde talks about how he is going with his friends the next day to see a place get demolished and the dads decide... ugh to have their house demolished. Clyde thinks this in insane and decides to stop them before destroying their house. (like idiots)  He makes  them realize this was all insane and they tell him why, which you know they could have done earlier and stopped the pain.

Then the ending Clyde decides to spend time with his dads that night, Flip hears the wrong words  and decides to hit part of the house. I think that supposed to be funny, but I'm out.

It was a weak episode, if I'm supposed to be on the side of the dads being upset about their son spending time with his friends over being with them all the time, the episode didn't give me any reason why I should be on that side. We had to follow them as the protagonists for this episode and I don't see it.    The only thing I get is that they are used to spending time with Clyde, and I can see that, they kind of needed to let him breathe though. I'm glad they didn't really try and force him to stay during each little trick, they mostly were able to convince him, otherwise that would have made things bad.  I do like they realize that they should understand that sometimes he'll want to do things without them, which feels like a plot they've done with Clyde and the dads before so oops. Clyde quickly saying I'd like to spend the evening with them , kind of weakened that impact, it'd be better if he said, "I  understand, I do like hanging out with you guys too, I'll try to balance things out more." It would make it feel more natural to Clyde and show that both sides can give some compromises.  Maybe should done that instead of Flip being annoying for the ending gag.

Anyway, I give the episode 6.5/10

More after the jump

 Episode 24b : High Crimes

A Clincoln Episode? It's been 84 years. They haven't done this in some time.  It's about Lincoln and Clyde with their grandmas. (like the last Clincoln episode)  Apparently, the retirement home is missing stuff  and Lincoln and Clyde here their grand parents say they might consider moving. Then Lincoln decides, using a comic book as reference, that some one wants to get them to move.

He calls Lisa because he wants his parents to bring him his David Steele (TM) spy stuff and Lisa shows up, she had Todd drive the van  and brought Darebot  too, and shows them the better spy stuff she made them.

Lisa is playing M this episode. They dress as old men and knock and start doing spy stuff. This episode is  actually pretty fun so far. They try to catch a person and figure out Clyde's  Nana Gayle is also doing undercover work and she joins them. (This is pretty fun)

I feel bad for the lady who works the front desk, she's not having the best day. They go out and check 3 suspects. Vic is back from the "Electshunned" episode he's now a clown , which says alot about politics. (what?) Also they apparently  made it where the evil guy isn't evil this episode so good work.  Flip isn't obvious either for once.

They come back and notice the old people are moving because of the hot water being out. Now we get helium voiced Lincoln and Clyde (Plus 0.2 pts)  They answer was Vic all along  because he wanted the helium.  Then there's a chase and eventually they get him and Scoots has him fix stuff.

This was a fun episode, liked the mystery and they did make a nice red herring where you at least wouldn't suspect the bad guy is the bad guy before making it the actual well duh answer. I liked this episode. having Gayle play a part was pretty nice too, If you are a continuity fan they put some stuff that works out for you as well. A good episode 7.7/10.

That's it for now, tune in next time when we investigate insurance fraud in a certain Michigan town.
