The Loud House: Season 3: Episode 4: Selfie Improvement/ No Place Like Homeschool

 The Loud House  Nickelodeon

      Episode 4a: Selfie Improvement

(Automatically taking off 0.5 pts for making me use the word selfie) This is an episode about internet stuff (yay! dying inside)  Lori is happy that her recent selfie (ow) got a good amount of likes but a rival named Carol Pingrey has gotten more likes. (I wanna cry) The eldest Loud girl is not happy and decides to make the perfect selfie.  Of course, she decides to put some heavy work into doing this and life gets in the way as life does.

That's most of the episode where you see Lori's different attempts at trying to make the internet like her pictures. The episode keeps it light and it's fun to see Lori's different attempts at perfection, it reminds me of the Lincoln picture taking episodes, which somehow there are 3 episodes about Lincoln and pictures. (take a picture, it'll last longer)

Meanwhile, a side thing with Bobby calling Lori and telling her he nervous about the dentist, but she kind of ignores it for more picture taking and apparently, she finally gets her goal. Then she finds out that Carol beats her again.  She's able to do it again, but  the same thing happens two more times. (oops)

Then Carol does well with a  picnic, pic (picnic nick nick eloden) and the Booby part is back, when she calls Bobby demanding he drive three hours to have a picnic with her, but he's at the dentist office.  The guy does drive up 3 hours after dental surgery with his wisdom tooth removed and that's when Lori realizes her wisdom was removed. She realizes that she was so caught up  that she didn't care for her boyfriend and his caring for her made her figure out she's been selfie-ish (boo) and Lori decides to just have a nice time with Bobby.

Later, Lori goes to return stuff at the store, and decides to talk to Carol when she spots her and this is when she finds out Carol was doing things to out do her, because she thought Lori was more impressive. So the episode ends with these two making a bond and becoming friends.

This was a pretty good episode, Lori's exploits are fun  and the episode's conclusion is nicely done.  It's enjoyable , comedic and pretty good.  I give it 8/10.

  More after the Jump

Episode 4b: No Place like Homeschool

Reject normal school, embrace homeschool.  Lola does homeschool for six weeks because of pageant  season. (Which is like rabbit season, but with more blood)  The other Louds think that this is "easy street" for Lola  which means that Lola was once a one time show girl (wait ) and she's now a wealthy widow and her family wants to bump her off for the money. Nobody's going to get what I'm talking about.

Lynn says that's she busy too, she signed more sports than a  person should so, busy. Lucy and Lana have stuff too. I'm not sure why Lisa is in regular school that's just weird but they have their reasons. Anyway, Lincoln convinces the parents to give them homeschooling, but they have to do their work or else... back to regular school.

Now, I a simple not southern lawyer but this will go wrong.  Lola here is the voice of reason, says that work is work, but the rest of the Louds take a measure of dumb. (Again, even Lisa, which doesn't fit her character but we have to do this like this) (so minus 0.2pts)  Since they have taken a level of stupid, they all do stupid things, except Lola that's important.

Lola reminds them to do their workbooks, but they do not.  Lola has been shown through the episode doing her work and staying to task.   There's a test at 8AM the next day, and the other Louds find out that they didn't know this (because read the last paragraph)  They go to work to cram session, but this also doesn't work because reasons.

Lincoln decides to go wake up Lola , eek, to get her to help them. If  Lola says no, she wouldn't be wrong, because she did her work, she warned them what happens and yet, they didn't listen. They kind of deserve to lose.  The thing that excels is that she decides to help them, if though she didn't have to,  giving us more into her character that she works hard in things she does.

Why does Rita say "You all Passed!" then cheering, "Sorry, not everyone, Lola didn't." what the heck? (minus 0.2 pts) Lola didn't finish her test because she was tired and Rita tells her she has to go to normal school on Monday.

Then it skips to Monday, the siblings also didn't tell Lola that they told their parents what happened and agreed to back to regular school and let Lola have a second chance. Odd they took three days but alright then. The ending is nice to help show that they were dumb in their decisions so and Lola getting a right result because she does the work was good to happen.

I'm also happy the episode wasn't depicting homeschooling in a negative way, because that would have really ruined the episode.  It was a slightly humorous episode, but it also hedges on the idea if you feel the siblings were being annoying to you or not. I like that Lola was there for contrast without an antagonist. role  I give it 7.5/10.

That's it for now, tune in next time, when we make a TV show where the main characters are home schooled.
