The Loud House : Season 4 Episode 23: Wheel and Deal / Feast or Family

 Nickelodeon The Loud House

        Episode 23a:  Wheel  and Deal

A Lana and Lincoln team up episode is always nice. Anyway, it starts with Lincoln and Clyde playing a video game with Lana pops and recruits him to join a go-kart contest, that price is meeting Bobbie Fletcher, the race car driver she met in "Snow Way Out."  Lana introduces the car she is proud of but Lincoln finds it subpar.  Lana wants to build her car with heart and on her own way. (This is going to be one of those episodes)

The car they built together is nice, and  Lincoln is confident. Then he sees that a bunch of other competitors bought their go-karts  Chandler tells him this. Lincoln wants to buy a car but Lana says no, because she has faith. Lincoln does not and obsesses that Lana won't win. He seems to care, but he's also going about it the wrong by saying that people who bought their cars are cheating and decides to cheat for Lana without her knowing by using his friends, who are apparently ok with this. (yes)

I'm also glad that no one is monitoring this race so they can't see things that are happening (This whole plan works when it shouldn't)  Also Hops, the frog keeps being suspicious.  Lana sees drones and figured out that Lincoln was cheating for her and she decides to do the race again, the right way.  Lana says she doesn't care and going the rightway. Of course Lincoln apologizes and she forgives him.  Bobbie Fletcher stayed around  and notices Lana built her own car and was the only racer to do such.

Yes, this is one of those heart over style message episodes, and a winning isn't everything message. Lincoln's actions were misplaced even if he was trying to help, trying to say everyone else was cheating was  little  much, if there was a rule that said that cars couldn't be bought then it would have been brought up somewhere.  He saw his cheating at leveling the playing field, which again was a mistake.  It doesn't hamper the episode unless you find Lincoln's actions annoying, but otherwise, it's alright episode.  Lana's very much together having a high amount of optimism and hope.  I give it 7/10.

        Episode 23B: Feast or Family

I think it's a good idea to have the loud siblings who have one note interests to find other things, Luan got a cooking elective. This episode allows a Luan and Lynn Sr.  to have a bond over food, something he does.  They have been shown to bond over jokes so it's nice to see something else. This episode is delight seeing the first half be this great montage of these two working together.  (The cooking for 10 or people thing is convenient and random) The elective ends and Lynn Sr. thinks of the idea of him and Luan working together.

This is where the 2nd half gets a little down, because Lynn Sr. gets obsessed with the idea of Luan being his successor and starts to suck the fun out of cooking Luan was having  To be fair, I wonder if we are also supposed to be annoyed by him showing up and doing stuff.   One thing, I find interesting about Luan is how she uses her dummy , Mr. Coconuts, as a way to express her inner thoughts and help her deal with a problem she's having. There's also a random Lincoln dressed like a cowboy moment. She was going to talk to with Coconuts but she can't find him and she finds out that Lynn Sr. put him storage because of his weird obsession.

Luan gets mad and says she's not taking over the restaurant.  Lynn Sr feels bad and apologizes.

This is a good episode,it's a nice idea to have the Louds also find other things off their main interest.  I think the first half is stronger because Lynn Sr. does start to get grating to watch him try to get Luan more interested in cooking. I guess it's their way of showing he was just really happy one of his kids were excited in something likes to do, and they explain that later, but I felt that part dragged on too much.  It's a good episode otherwise and a good take.  I give 7.5/10.

That's it for now , tune in  in next time when we  merge food with comedy and car racing.
