Episode 10a: Karate Chops

This episodes uses one of those plot lines where character a is new but good  at something, in this case Carl is good at karate after starting 2 weeks before the time in the episode. Then character B shows up  and even though. they've never done the thing before they seem naturally gifted it causing character A ot be jealous.  In this case Adelaide, Sid's little sister.  That means, Carl doesn't like that she's better at this than him and wants her out of the way.  Yay!

I guess my main point is this episode is following  a classic plot line structure. That's fine, they don't do much with it though. We go through Carl (and Serigo) working together to stop Adelaide from doing well in the class. He challenges her to a board breaking challenge, having already made un-breakable boards, with the stakes being that loser has to leave the class forever. So, of course he wins and she leaves. This makes Carl the star student again.  Guess what that means? That's right, we can't have Carl getting away with that so... Par, the teacher, asks Carl since Adelaide quit to break boards in a school demonstration.

To ramp up the stakes, Par tells Carl that the class is small and they need more kids to show up or they'll have to close down. Yep, there we go. Carl isn't as good at breaking boards as Adelaide so  he has to do something. Earlier in the episode they showed Ronnie Anne and Sid working on their robot and that ties back to Carl taking the arms from the robot to make it seem like he has powerful arms and can break boards.  Of course, this plan was a bad one, it didn't work, Carl admits wrong doing and Adelaide helps out, saving the dojo.

It's an alright episode, it paints a basic plot, but there's nothing that makes it awful or unwatchable, just a basic episode, that's fine sometimes. I give it 6.5/10.

Episode 10b : Taco of the Town

This episode starts with Hector at the shop with Vito  not buying stuff because he has no cash. Then Bobby shows up with lunch, with tacos, these are special made red tacos from Rosa. Vito fnds out he does have cash and buys a taco he wants to try it. (Ha that's funny)  Vito gets an idea to sell the red tacos. Rosa agrees, reluctantly,  At first, this plan doesn't work, so Bobby being a good business man in thought comes up with an idea to get tacos sold. I like that they show that part of his character.

This goes well because it's popular, but then they get too popular.  They work on a new system, and the idea works.  The Casagrandes get tons of money from the tacos. Rosa can't do her other stuff, so Hector has to take her place in fixing the apartment stuff. The Mercado changes to be more taco focused.  Now Hector has to do more Rosa work since the store is being slowly transformed into a taco shop. It's interesting to see how these two switch roles.

Ronnie Anne shows up and apparently the moral of the episode is that maybe having tons of money doesn't make you happy.   Hector talks to Rosa and they agree to go back to normal.

This is  a fun episode,  Hector's character has always liked  adding money, and this episode shows him that maybe that's not a  good thing if he's not happy, plus he didn't want to give up too quickly, because he felt that Rosa was happy getting attention for her great food. This is a good episode, I give it 7/10.

That's it for now, tune in next time when when we sell tacos in exchange for mangos.
