Weekendering : The Weekenders Do Halloween: Nevermore

The Weekenders Disney Halloween

We're doing a collision of two different things combining them because they intersect. We are writing about "The Weekenders" a series I have written a lot about, especially covering the first season.  Since people have decided to make Halloween a month long affair (there was a committee) I've decided to take a look at a Halloween themed episode of "The Weekenders" which is kind of fitting since Halloween happens on a weekend day this year (and next year, but that's Sunday).  From Season 4 , it's episode 1, called "Nevermore".

The show keeps it's normal weekend format even for a holiday, Tino is presenting us with a story of  "The Halloween that almost wasn't".  It starts from what he called the  least scariest Haunted house, because Halloween is coming why not make it educational. I like how there's a shirt store that sells shirts by the weight, that's a concept we need in our society.  Tino is  excited for trick or treating, but his friends say they are too old and aren't going. (It's one of those plots)

Tino  continues wanting to make sure his friends do trick or treating, kind of brushing off what they said the day before.  Carver tells him they don't want to do it. ( I find it interesting 3 of them all agreed at same time)   Tino says people say they aren't going but they don't want to admit it. (remember that)

Tish, Lor, and Carver talk to each other to try and get out of trick or treating without hurting Tino's feelings. (Wish Tish doesn't want to hurt them Carver and Lor don't mind)  Tino fakes that he's alright but, of course he's not, because of course. (Duh, we need a plot)   Tino shows off his past Halloween costumes and a secret weapon, well not really no.

So he does what a logical person would do and haunt his friends to get them to trick or treat.  He has some strange and creative ideas though. (Nice work of having Carter hum the theme music)   It's Halloween,  Tino dresses like Mexico (a cut out the shape of Mexico) Tino's mom gives him advice that he shouldn't make his friends go trick or treat. He makes new costume by combining an English policeman and a superhero. Tish tries to help and tells her friends they still do things from younger days and they try to go with Tino.

Tino finds a couple other kids and they go trick or treating. He does a speech to these classmates. He convinces them to go out and trick or treat.  It's kind of fun to see. Anyway, Tino and others get a nice haul of candy, and Tino accepts that his friends don't feel like they are of the age to do it anymore, and he found others who are willing.

This is a good episode, a simple idea with Tino just wanting his friends to continue the idea of trick or treating, but them not wanting to, beacause sometimes groups even near the same age do grow out of things in different time periods.  Tino's hauntings were creative and funny, and the episode is fun.  Do check it out.

That's it for now, until then, later days.
