The Loud House Season 2: Episode 22: Legends/ Mall of Duty

The Loud House  Nickelodeon

Previously on the Loud House : Clyde learns the power of following the rules or something  : read that here.

    Now to episode 22

     Episode 22a: Legends

There was once a Nickelodeon game show called "Legends of the Hidden Temple" that ran from 1993-1995 and procured 120 episodes.  Apparently, in the Loud House universe this is  a currently running show meaning that the show takes place in 1994 , change my mind.  (Oh yeah what about Lori's smart phone?)  Something we've not seen much of is Lincoln and his father bonding and stuff so, that's this episode more than being focused on the game show.

First there's a montage of  Lincoln and his dad trying to figure out something they could do together and they find out they both like the game show. (There is  a nice touch of having the original host of the game show voice his role in this episode)  Lincoln and Lynn Sr. are going to be on the show. Also nice touch on having the show tape in Orlando, where the original show was taped. This also means since Nick studios in Orlando closed in 2005 that this show takes place in 1994, change my mind.

The competing team have the names of Stand and Steak Stanko because those are real names.  (<Sarcasm>) "They are just here for fun" they aren't going to let the rivals get to them at all. (<Sarcasm / >)  Montage of game play.  Again, the plot device overly annoying father and son antagonists go further causing  Lincoln and Lynn Sr. to make a bet to run the airport in their underwear if they lose. (I'm calling the police)

Now because the stakes were raised or something Lincoln and Lynn Sr. start to have troubles because that bonding was too nice or something.  Luckily after that period they eventually figure out that was dumb and go back to normal.   The Louds do lose They have to walk through the airport in their underwear, but apparently EVERYONE  was watching the show and the people at the airport clap at them because TEAMWORK.  They do get taken in by security so, I feel relived.

The episode bounces between good bonding teamwork to bad bonding and teamwork.  The antagonists served no purpose but to be annoying, I'd rather have competition that spur them to want to work together or something else anything but antagonists there to be annoying for no reason.  There are people who might act like that, but I don't need them for the story.   It's an alright episode so 8/10.

More after the Jump

     Episode 22b  :Mall of Duty

Lincoln is the middle sibling so, half the family is older than him and half is younger. This episode shows his younger part and Lincoln.

So it starts with Lincoln having to watch the younger sisters (Lucy, Lana, Lola, Lisa, and Lilly) then he wants to visit his favorite survivalist guy, Rip Hardcore (that' s a name) to have his book autographed. He takes the sisters to the mall to wait in line, though the sisters aren't really interested in waiting in line because it's boring.   Lincoln's attempts to keep his sisters' entertained, the main thing he does is put them on a train thing.

Eventually, the line clears and he gets his book signed.  Episode over, wow that was quick. (Not really, there's more)  Now the sisters have left the train and he has to search for them. He uses his wild life book to track for his sisters because sure.  Meanwhile, Lisa has voided a bunch of appliances' warranties.  Lola started a cult.  Lana's a duck mom now. All of this was interesting to see. He has to give up his book to get help from Scoots to help retrieve the youngest Loud.  Showing some heart.

The parents did end up getting Lincoln a signed copy, and he was about to admit the truth but the little sisters cover for him  and it's a sweet ending.

I personally, like Lincoln's interactions with the younger sisters more , I think it works better with him.   This episode is very entertaining and nothing seems over done or unnecessary. It's not a grand episode or anything momentous, but it has great interactions, comedy, and action. A well done episode 9.5/10.

That's our  look now, tune in next time, when we tell you the Loud House actually takes place in 1994 again.
