Alright, you might be wondering where Season 2 episode 18 is. We did those two segments already with different episodes.  Episode 18a is here  and Episode 18b is here.

          Episode 19a: Future Tense

The establishing shot is important! Yes, the very start of the episode is important because it shows the Loud kids having their normal , yet static fun. The reason why that is important is because this episode is going to have a contrast to the Loud Family.  New neighbors move into the neighborhood and Loud parents go to welcome Bumper and Jancey Yates. (Bumper is not a name , who names their kid Bumper?!)  Also this couple has most unsettling smiles, because they don't stop smiling. (They are in a cult, I'm calling the cult police)  They also have 4 kids who are also calm and smiling in a scary way. Their kids are named  Beatrix, Bumper Jr. (They hate their son), Belle, and Beau. (They gave all their kids the same letter for first names, what weirdos...oh wait.)

The kids seem perfect (because they are in a cult too) the parents call this being well rounded (rounded in a cult) the Loud parents feel they are bad parents because their kids aren't well rounded. (So, they decided to join a cult too!)   Lynn is going to the learning center (to learn to be in a cult), why is the learning center spelled as  Learnin' Center? Don't go there!  Lisa has to go to an arts and crafts center because she won't get rich of science stuff? (This is a weird cult) Luna has to go to Royal Woods Community College to learn English <Sarcasm> because she currently speaks French. </Sarcasm>  Leni and Lori get to learn S.A.T stuff which, is the only thing that makes sense.  Luan has to go to City Hall so she can learn how to be a corrupt politician;  good work parents!  Lucy has to do basketball because you can only do teamwork in sports! (lying) Lola has to work in a soup kitchen, because that's what we make six year olds do on their own, Lana has to learn social graces because tomboy, or something.  Lincoln gets to read educational comics, because they gave up.

Can we skip ahead? I know how this is going to turn out, you know how this is going to turn out, so let's skip to the end and... (no we stay the course) oooh.  The  kids are miserable because  of course, but the parents let them have a fun weekend.  Then they see totally in a cult family, and now they make their kids clean up stuff the highway because we have less than 4 more minutes of this.  i do like the touch they did with Lisa smiling at the opera because they have shown her to like it before, but this is a loose compliment. They keep trying to out do the Yates family, because they apparently don't know these people are either in a cult or robots.

It is interesting to see the kids do their new activities. When the parents try to convince their kids to  get some ice cream and they turn it down; the parents think they are failing their kids again. (make up your minds, oh we have like 2 minutes left, wrap it up)  The parents tell their kids to go have fun instead  and apologize. They even convince the strange family to have some fun.

What helps the episode is they went with the best intentions mode  and the parents only wanted their kids to be "well rounded" for the future.  It was enjoyable to see the kids' reactions and what they learned from doing these "well-rounded" things, and there are some one liners in this episode. The contrast with this other family giving this most unsettling feeling about them was fun.  I give the episode an 8/10.

  Episode 19b:  Lynner  Takes All

Lynn Loud is a competitive character: she plays sports and likes to do competitive things so that's what this episode about.  When Lynn does win something she goes more in an over the top crazy way of celebrating.  The episode starts with family game night where as Lincoln mentions that she and over celebrates her win.  Does bring up the question of why do they continue to play, but then we wouldn't have a plot, I guess.  The family decides to form a conspiracy and defeat her. They go and find games that fit the characters' personalities.

Does this work? No. Because we have 6 minutes  left to go. So they do more conspiring against her by getting together and using a game that she can lose. Now, how does Lynn react to this? Like I said before, we have now 5 minutes left so, we need to train to go on.  Lynn become over the top and randomly makes everything a competition. It is funny to see how over the top she goes , and it's also slightly annoying. The siblings decide to throw the game something something. Leni, being Leni, lets it slip that they were trying to throw the game.

The siblings tell her how they feel and she does express that she doesn't mean it; that she just likes playing  games with them. She tries to do a better sport.  Now she does go outside and celebrate, but  at least she's trying.

The idea for the episode is for Lynn not to be such an over the top winner, and yeah it kind of achieves that. The  line for the episode is that Lynn doesn't intentionally mean to make her siblings completely annoyed by her gloating,  she gets carried away in celebrating and lets her competitive nature take it away. If she shown to be doing it because she knows it annoys them or hurts them then it  would have been bad.  This episode splits the difference in how a viewers feels about the content of it. If they feel that Lynn's over the top-ness bothers them , then it won't be an episode they like. I don't think it's a bad episode and there are some fun moments to the episode, I give it 7/10.

That's it for now  and We win!
