The Casagrandes Nickelodeon
Episode 14a : Sink or Swim
The city pool is open for the season. The episode starts with the family being excited for the pool being back up. It also mentions that Bobby is a certified lifeguard, keeping "The Loud House" memories alive. Carl seems nervous to go , and before you can think, may be its because he can't swim, well, the episode goes out of the way to tell you he took swimming lessons. It makes you question it a little Carl does a bunch of things to make sure he can't swim.
There is one thing I will point out here: The poop jokes in this episode are annoying and really don't make it funny. I am deducting 0.5 pts right here for all of them because yeah. Bobby tries to get Carl to swim and finds out that Carl can't swim, because of course. (good earlier misdirection) At lessons, Carl paid a kid to swim for him (because that's how Carl is ) and he was scared. Bobby wants to teach him and Bobby tells him he can't tie his shoes.
They teach each other. This doesn't go well and Bobby offers a save. They try again. This time it works out well for both of them and Carl now knows how to swim. (Success) Because Ronnie Anne was watching the episode, she knew everything.
It's a nice bonding between Carl and Bobby, where past episodes have only show them together making bets, or Carl scamming Bobby out of money. This gives a different side of their relationship. The episode doesn't give away that Bobby really or really doesn't know how to tie shoes, and that misdirection at the start was nice as well. The only thing I didn't really like was the poop joke it wasn't adding anything or funny. It's a simple episode but fine, I give it 7.5/10
Episode 14b: The Big Chill
Oh a heatwave episode , nice! ( I don't like heat or heatwaves)
The episodes starts with showing us that it is hot in the city. I like how they did that it works well. The Casagrandes are having a hot day as well. Ronnie Anne is wearing a hoodie but also hot, so, I'm not sure. They want their grandfather to buy air conditioner. The show exaggerates for the plot, showing air conditioners costing like $10,000 when I looked up window units all under $200. (Or use Honey, not sponsored) That's a weird tangent. So the kids work together to get their own AC.
There's a street fair and kids decide to sell shaved ice after Bobby shows them a shaved ice machine. This goes badly when Bobby fills the machine with too much ice and the machine goes mad. Ronnie Anne, being quick on her feet, makes it work with a new plan, and they try a make over stand. The episode remembers the heat wave and that plan dies. Balloon swords don't work either. Ronnie Anne having morals doesn't help Carl's plan. Finally, a sitting both works and this seems to go well until, Bobby tries to be a chair and collapses with Vito on his back causing Vito to fly into a fire hydrant. They have to give up their money.
Hector decides he will get the AC after all, after seeing the kids have worked hard. Ronnie Annie thinks up a new idea where she and Hector can turn the shaved ice machine into an AC unit. This was a sweet moment to see Hector do this. The idea is inventive and fun and that's all you need (screw logic) and it brings a nice ending. The episode was fun and creative and I give this episode 8/10.
That's it for now, tune in next time when we turn sue Vito for breaking our fire hydrant... don't ask how that works.
