The Really Loud House: Season 2: Episode 7: Loud Family Court: The Flames of Justice

 The Really Loud House Nickelodeon

Episode 7: Loud Family Court: The Flames of Justice

Lincoln is accused of burning down the house... burning the kitchen. The kitchen is charred.  That's a hot start to an episode.  Lincoln is accused and he says he didn't do it, so it's time for a family court episode. That's right, we're doing the classic plot line of people pretending to do court to prove something.   It's more about the execution and this episode does it pretty fun.

Lynn Sr. plays the judge , but Rita wanted to be it this time and she plays the disgruntled bailiff instead.  Luna plays music because Luna. Which I mean makes court fun.  Luan plays the Harvey Levin role of the court reporter,  watch "People's Court" you'll see what I mean.  Lana and Lola are the investigators of the crime, Lynn and Lucy are the jerky,  (The Jury?) no the jerky. [someone please get that joke]  Clyde plays Lincoln's lawyer and Leni gets to play  the prosecutor and the show actually mentions "Legally Blonde". (Points for that!)

Every Loud, minus Lilly, gets to play a role here that's great. Leni as a tough well-skilled prosecutor is one of the best elements of this episode. It's pretty fun to see her be really good at this role. Especially with Clyde playing a nervous lawyer. The Rita and Lynn interactions are funny, where she plays passive aggressively bothered by him and then keeps helping him when he bumbles.  Every little piece moves together well.

The episode has a mystery where we don't know who started the fire and why? There's a lot of clues that seem to implicate Lincoln, but as things build  it also sews doubt where it could be a sister too.  Things that could be a way to show Lincoln didn't do it get undone easily.  There were times I thought maybe Leni had done it, because she was angling hard as a lawyer there. There are little things to notice in the trial that help set up that it was yes, Lynn Sr.'s pair of glasses that started the fire from the sun light sparking the tinderbox the kitchen was set up to be.

I liked how it brought up a fun version of these court based sitcom episodes. The episode set up the clues of how the kitchen fire could have spread the way it did (be fire safe people) and had the outcome be something interesting without feeling stupid.  I don't think there's anything I didn't like about it. I'm giving it 8/10.

That's it for now, tune in next time when we get sued for putting the screw in the tuna.
