The Really Loud House Nickelodeon
Episode 6: Nice Guys Finish First
There are different moving parts to this episode and they all result pretty well in how they work. Starting with Lincoln who wants to date Zia, Lynn's new friend, but there's a Lynn sized problem in the way. He actually decides to go with the at least not crazy idea of asking her if he date her friend. She says no, and he decides to challenge her to win something. The amazing is that Lincoln continues losing and losing but still continues to challenge Lynn in a multitude of activities to the point of getting injured.
Rita is going away with friends for a couple days and she tells Lynn Sr. has to be more firm because Leni is grounded, she wants to get Lily potty-trained to get ready to go to school, Lisa to be more social, and Lola and Lana to not have this cat they found. This is other main plot of the episode. Where Lynn Sr. tries to make sure he can keep all this and all the forces against him work hard. Lily doesn't want to be potty trained, twins want cat, Leni wants to be free, Lisa wants to read books. I find these mostly interesting , not the Lily part. I do kind of notice this version of the show does have Lana and Lola be more standard twins with some difference but alot more twin connected interaction. Here they have the same goal of wanting a cat. Leni being ground, though we're never told why. (What did she do?) Lisa and socialization is interesting as it seemed she has done that before in this show, but I guess we need that. There's not alot of Clyde this episode, he does guide Lincoln into the idea of just asking Lynn and hangs around to help in some of their competitions, he comes back later to help Lincoln out too.
Lincoln's plot doesn't take up the majority of the episode as it seems the other moving parts take over more. Lynn Sr. struggles to potty train Lily and that gives Lana and Lola the idea to make a deal where they can keep the cat if they can potty train Lily. It ends up not being easy for them either as she still refuses. Leni convinces him to let her go to the mall if she takes Lisa out to help her socialize. He agrees. (Oops) The interaction between Leni and Lisa at the mall was cool. Especially the two of them bonding over a song.
Eventually things go wrong. Rita is on her way home early, and Lynn Sr. has to get her. Lily still hasn't been potty trained. The cat is still there, Lincoln looks awful, Leni is out of the house, and it seem she hasn't been as tough as he should have been. He decides to accept part of his fate and goes to get Rita. Leni comes home and she forgot Lisa so detour first. We get a funny moment of Lisa just slipping out of the locked bars at the mall when Lynn Sr. and Leni were trying to pick a lock. At home, the twins figure out why Lily doesn't want to be potty trained, she'll miss her friend on the box of the diapers.
Everything comes together well, as Rita is pleased to see the Lisa is seemingly embracing the pop song and wearing a lighted head band. They come home and find out that Lily has figured out potty training thanks to dressing up Lincoln as the panda : this also helps him cover up the injuries a bit. Cat seems to be taken care of later. Everything wrapped in a neat little bow.
Lynn decides to let Lincoln date Zia because he went through so much to ask for the date in the first place, he never gave up. We get the a sweet ending.
The show's strong points come out here at how everything moves, even makes some of the gross moments less noticeable. [heh] It was also a different way of having Lincoln achieve a goal of him working hard without doing a big tricky plan. It was also nice to see how Lynn Sr. while bending things did get things done just in a more less straight forward way. It's a way better touch than things going down in flames for him and having a bad outcome. This was a fun episode, really enjoyable. 8/10.
That's it for now ,tune in next time when we tell you how Pandas can't fly.
