Episode 4a: InTODDnito
Well my bias comes in being a Lisa episode, but uhhhh it's also a plot of person [Lisa] has to be at two places at once and does something to do that, [in this case Lisa uses Todd to pretend to be her]. Darcy, who is back apparently, has invited Lisa to her birthday party, but Lisa also wants to meet a famous scientist. Same time, blah blah. She has Todd dress up like her and she makes him shorter, we also get the fun part of them mentioning something that will probably come up later.
Lisa is able to communicate with Todd and help him out if he needs help. Most of the episode I wonder what could go wrong. There's a plot device ride on unicorn that again Todd can't ride because the very flimsy disguise could fall off. [I'm not hyper doctor but, couldn't she have made a disguise that can't fall off?] So the new plan is to destroy the unicorn. It was funny to me that Flip knows that Lisa is Lincoln's sister but doesn't her name.
Does Darcy know? Do I know? She tells Lisa the robot but Lisa the girl can hear this that she knows that Lisa isn't into birthdays but is glad that her bestie could show up. Lisa feels guilty. She decides to skip her doctor meeting and runs to the party. Apparently things go well.
I am happy that the central core of the episode didn't just go on the classic sitcom idea and then having Darcy find out, instead having Lisa realize that she is missing something and have her decide to come to the party and make sure Darcy didn't figure it out. It's a nice difference. Also having Todd pretend to be Lisa actually worked better than I thought. It's a strong episode with some fun moments. The moments with Lisa and Darcy near the end were sweet. I give it 7.5/10
Oh good an episode about Flip and Flip's racoon Nacho. Nacho apparently has an ability to sense the weather. This episode is going to be weird, and misunderstands Groundhog Day. Flip has decided to take advantage of this by taking entry fees so people can see him. [Can I get the ad version of Nacho, please?]
Flip thinks of a different idea he wants to replace the weather man with Nacho. This apparently works. The weather man now works for Flip because this episode has gone weird. Everybody loves Nacho apparently. Either New Jersey has become its own country or thinks states have their presidents. Either way, Flip tells Nacho he made a deal to make Nacho Newark Nacho. Nacho doesn't want to go to New Jersey. [Bold.] Especially without Flip.
That seems to have happened. Then it turns into Flip is missing Nacho. He found out that Nacho is going to Norway, because sure. Lincoln tells Flip he shouldn't give up. He takes Lincoln and Clyde with him to New Jersey and they go and get Nacho, Flip spills his feelings and they all go home.
The exploration of Nacho and Flip is a strange one but at least made an interesting story. Lincoln and Clyde seemed to be here as a way to say the show wasn't confident in having a story just about Flip and Nacho. It was a strange episode about a racoon that seemed to be a random feature in the series for a while. There were some funny moments, glad it didn't delve hard into Flip being gross or something. I give it 7/10.
