The Loud House: Season 4: Episode 6: Washed Up/ Recipe for Disaster

 The Loud House Nickelodeon

Episode 6a: Washed Up

This was the first Loud House episode about any of the Louds this season. Which makes for an interesting distinction here.  I will note that season 4 is interesting in that respect that it give about 1/5 of it's season over to a promotion for its spinoff. This season also could be considered a transitional season as it tries to build off the changes from season 3- where it focuses a bit more on other Louds than just Lincoln, but is also building up a change that happens in season 5.

Anyway, this episode is about all the Louds going on a 3 hour tour (uhh doing that on purpose, the Luan stole the line!) as they yes are going on a lake trip. The episode starts with some energy of the family getting ready for the trip. It's a nice mixture of family member set ups, agendas, and the reminder of how each character is.

If you couldn't tell the episode is going hard in the "Gilligan's Island" homage, and also getting a boat from Flip was just stupid. The boat stops working , then a whirlpool (That's why I like Maytag) and they end up on an island. Just to make it work, it uses a practical reason why all their phones won't work (besides using AT&T) and that's because water and phones don't mix.

The family works to survive on the island and make a distress signal to get the coast guard to hope  to see them at some point. The episode does play to strengths of the characters. Things start off well, but island living is hard and their food has been eaten by wild animals (thankfully not meat eating animals) , wind shows up and destroys some sheltering. The distress signal also gets destroyed because the tide is high ,but I'm holdin' on I'm gonna be your number one.  (Back the episode you)

They decide to work hard to find away to get off the island.  Thankfully, Flip's cheapness (odd sentence) saves them when he finds them for the late fee. Which he'll wave. (heh wave)

The episode is very simple and it doesn't linger them long on the island in a good spot or a bad spot. The episode does find a way to keep them bonded during the ordeal and not have them turn into a fight or something.  There's a great mixture and character strength in this episode and it worked through out. It was  nice episode 8/10.

More after the jump

Episode 6b: Recipe for Disaster

Clyde has found out some large frozen foods company has apparently made food that tastes just like Lincoln's dad's. (Lasagna tastes like lasagna- Garfield 2:11 )  When Lisa's machine confirms this, Clyde and Lincoln decide to investigate what's going on. (Their father started his own frozen foods company, duh)  Lynn Sr. even finds out his recipe book he had for years is missing. (He's doing it for the insurance money)

The duo go and check on some suspects.  Then, they figure out that maybe someone who works at the company- that happens to be based in this town, could have stolen the book.  Going to the HQ was hard because security is doing his job.  They are able to sneak in and find a woman with the book.

Actually (akutully)  that was her book. Then it seems he may have stolen his recipes from her. They meet up and it turns out that she was his old home ec. teacher and they've both did the same thing with the recipes. So, there's no fight. Then the two work together to work on a recipe. But what happened to the book? Leni took them by accident. Random ending.

It was a nice outing for a Lincoln and Clyde based plot. It doesn't do anything not seen in a previous Lincoln and Clyde solve a mystery plot, but it was a nice episode anyway.  It also was nice to give some lore to Lynn Sr. and his cooking. There's not much I can add here, it's a good episode, has some fun moments and works well. It's 7.5.

That's it for now, tune in next time when we call Almond Joy and tell them Mounds stole their idea.
