The Really Loud House: Season 1: Episode 10: No Louds Allowed

 The Really Loud House  Nickelodeon

Episode 10:  No Louds Allowed

One of the things about writing about an episode of  "The Really Loud House" versus it's main series or the other spinoff it had, is the story telling is different. It's not even because of the length of time because even the 22-minute specials of the animated series have a strict set up to them and usually, the pacing is done between the two halves to have the story.  The 22 minute specials usually take the 11 minute episodes and stretch the concept to fit the time. As we've hit the 10th episode in, I can finally notice how the show is written differently with more flow.

Anyway (he's taking his time today),  Lincoln has a problem where his sisters keep using his room  when he's bothered by it being that he's the only one without a roommate. That seems to be the strange answer, because of course he doesn't have a roommate like his sisters. Even he mentions his room is a closet. The other part is from the context, again reaching to the source animated series: his being the only boy of the kids of the family would probably be sensible to know that's why he has his own room. With the power of over-thinking ( a hallmark around here) it's because he's the main character and has main character powers, because I'll let this question live in your heads: Did Lisa have her own room until Lilly was born?

Lincoln is rightfully concerned that his sisters are coming into his room and using it as a place for exercise,  holding a dangerous orb of power, abominations toward God himself : turtles that were bred with snakes, and a manikin that Leni treats like its living and is mad at it. (If you put it that, it sounds unhinged)  The scene where Lincoln calls a family meeting and the parents wondering if he can do that is  like an inside joke for those who also have watched the animated series, where he has done that.

Something, something  Lincoln is justifiably right in saying that his personal space is being bothered. Also apparently, Clyde shows up alot here.  I do have to say I'm a fan of the idea of the sisters thinking it's unfair , because he so far hasn't been shown using their rooms for his own purposes.(That could have been the plot to this episode too. )  The parents also disagree with him but, say if he can find a little extra space it's all his.  So, I'm not a fan of the parents also bringing in the idea of him not having a roommate as a reason why the sisters can go in there. Even if you go with the problem of a closet being a bedroom and probably shouldn't be supporting any human life in the first place.  That's my negative of the episode.

We'll return to the parents later, but first  (these messages?)  Lincoln decides to go find a space. (His My -Space if you will) He and Clyde take the time to clean up the attic and they end up making a spot to hang out and it looks nice. It's looks like a man cave or a den and touches are nice.

Setting off the conflict of the episode, yeah that's right, the actual conflict isn't  Lincoln like moving to the attic and the sisters being jealous or something in that vain. Lincoln tells a curious Leni and Luna that they can't come in because "They aren't on the list".  It also sets up Lucy, Lisa, Lana and Lynn, also finding out they aren't allowed in. (And their father, who's busy with his own plot anyway)

How does Leni and Luna, which I have find interesting that this version of "The Loud House" they are being a sister pairing, like a couple episodes back, do to rectify? They start their own club in the back yard.  That set also looks good, but would be bad in the rain.  Lincoln and Clyde get a little jealous and now want to check out this club.

That means Leni and Luna( and really more Luna here) tells them no, it's also of note to see Lucy and Lisa also together and were also rejected, back to them soon.  Lincoln really wants to get in to their club. It's also kind of justified.  Then the show forgets how phones work because the wifi goes down and everyone leaves Leni and Luna's club. (Hey! I'm not using my data!)

Luna thinks that Lincoln had something to do with it, but she was WRONG!  Now the four of them go and find out the source of  some music playing (also it's funny to hear Bill Nye, The Science guy mentioned)  which happens to be Lisa and Lucy who have started a club. There's a moment of Lana and Lynn mentioning they weren't also allowed in this club.

I think it is nice to see Lisa and Lucy having a plot segment together it's something we've not seen in the main series, so it was nice to see them have some bond here and again that past episode also having some of that (with a wider scope). Their club is a pretty nice mixture of strange science and gothic spookiness.

The reason for the wifi going down was the orb that we saw earlier when Lisa was storing in his room.  Lincoln, Leni, Luna, and Clyde all come together to take the orb out, but Lincoln accidently breaks it and causes a massive power outage. (what?)

I love how the episode had it set up where different sister duos get offended by being blocked out and decide to start their own. The final of those two is the tomboys , again something I wish the original series had done,  Lana and Lynn had started a club and have power because of  Lynn's exercising bike and umm Tony Hawk.   (A second Loud House series having Tony Hawk) I do like how Hawk isn't forced into the episode, and it's kind of fun to have here just because.

Partying with Tony Hawk/ Copyright Paramount

Lana and Lynn ban the others from their club then it starts a food fight that's fun until Tony Hawk doesn't being guacked.  He tells them they shouldn't be fighting as family, and Lincoln jumps and apologizes because was trying to exclude is family.  It ends with the siblings having a party in Lincoln's room (don't ask how that closet works)

Now more, after the jump

Interwoven into the episode is the parents' plot.  They have a simpler  plot of trying to get the youngest Loud to sleep. It's a nice little trip of exhausted parents just trying to help their daughter go to sleep and they want to go to sleep too. It has some nice jokes, and it was a good way to have the parents out of the way for the other plot to happen and have those kids deal with their problem themselves.

It also seems this episode decided to a catalogue of songs like "The Sweetest Taboo" by Sade , What is Love? the Haddaway one not the Howard Jones song. Huey Lewis and the news and even a poison song.  (Mom, what's a Taboo?)

This is a fine episode, it's a lot of fun and brings in some good elements. I do still have to say that I didn't like that one part that started the story, but the rest of it flowed well and was pretty fun to watch. Also, I'm appreciative of them having  different siblings pairings  that the main show doesn't do and is nicely done.  The sets for the "clubs" all were great and give a sense of character personality and style. Having a special guest star and not having it feel too much or forced was well done and it was funny , how Tony Hawk reacted  to what's happening. Good episode 8/10.

Tune in next time, when there's a quiet storm and it never felt like this before, because baby don't hurt me , no more because It's hip to be square and Don't need nothin' but a good time.
