The Loud House; SSeason 5: Episode 20: How the Best was Won/ Animal House

 The Loud House Nickelodeon

Episode 20a:  How The Best was Won

It's middle school "bests" time and Lincoln and Clyde want to win "Best Buds" that's a thing. Then Zach and Rusty are also now trying to win the same thing because apparently Zach and Rusty's fathers apparently also won that. (how convenient) Lincoln has a large friend group , Liam tries to remind them of this but, plot reasons gotta plot. (Notice that Liam and Stella aren't doing this)  The episode becomes a competition between these four , that takes up most of the episode.

Stella and Liam seem concerned but not that concerned to do anything.  There's a musical number, because of course there's a song number. (what?)   Lincoln decides the best idea is to have these 4 compete in a game show. (why?)  Stella is the host of this game show to hope that this will stop the insanity.( narrator: it doesn't stop the insanity) I would watch this wacky game show if it was real (at least once)

The game show goes off the rails as it becomes a food fight. Liam and Stella have had enough and walk away, quickly making  Lincoln and the others realize that they have about 1 minute left in the plot so we should hurry up and make up here. (Or that Stella and Liam are the real glue that hold them together) Eventually, the winner of the best buds are Rachael and Girl Jordan,  but more on that result soon. Oh and out of my left pocket, what's this?  A new category was pulled out, that being a Best friend group.  Oh fine alright then.

Yeah it's kind of an episode that went as expected. Oh Lincoln and Clyde vs. Zach and Rusty, that's different but still same with the idea that characters are fighting and we just sit there and just wait for it to play out. I am kind of disappointed that there wasn't much with Stella and Liam going on here, even a twist ending where like they win causing the others to feel bad and come together.   I do like that they at least remembered that Rusty and Zach have  a bond of some sort.

Would have been interesting to see if they had a made a bond with Stella and Liam , since it seems like the group does have other pairings besides the 6 of them together. Yes, the clear message of the episode is they are best together of course. Girl Jordan and this new character, Rachael, were spliced this episode alot and it does pay off. They didn't seem to be in the running, being used to pick between the ones we knew were running. The ending is slightly a cop out, I think it would have worked if they didn't win anything, but were happy they were friends.

     It's a fine episode so it's 7.5/10.

More after the Jump

         Episode 20b: Animal House

No it's not episode about  Lori Loud seeking to join a sorority and having antics along the way. ( Wait don't leave)

Lana apparently works at the animal shelter. This episode also has Sam without Luna which isn't a bad move because it would be nice to see Sam have some characterization.  Still this episode about Lana. So the animal shelter is over crowded (apparently there's only one in town) and Sam suggests that they have to find new homes for the exotic animals.  It's in Ohio. Lana isn't happy about this decision.  She decides at first to let animals stay in the house, but the parents say no because they draw a line somewhere.

Lana gets the idea to have randoms around town get the creatures. She  convinces Mr. Grouse to take in a penguin. (can people just have penguins as pets?)  Liam to take in a llama. (Liam and llama have the same letters almost)  Clyde's  family to take in a squirrel. with the guarantee that she'll take care of things. Lana works hard to keep up her bargain to make sure things work out. When this proves to be untenable, she does the logical thing of bringing them home and trying to hide them. (This is a bad plan)

Eventually , the animals and Lana decide to let the animals head to Ohio. But thankfully, the place lets Lana talk to the animals and see what they are doing through internet video technology.

This is a good episode, giving us more with Lana and animals, which is fun, though I wish they show some other things Lana likes, like her mechanical work or handy maning. This episode was straight forward and noting to make it to seem too much over the exciting or bad.  Not else to say but well done. 7.3/10

That's it for now, tune in next time when we get this Llama out of here.
