The Casagrandes: Season 2: Episode 13: Chancla Force/Fluff Love

 The Casagrandes  Nickelodeon

Previously on "The Casagrandes" : You got to know when to hold them you got to know when to fold them, Ronnie Anne and Sid learn that you shouldn't lose a wrestler's mask or they will suffer, and  something Carl did.  Read that here

   Episode 13a : Chancla Force

I will give this an opening like this right now, this episode is strange, like you will notice how strange it feels, you see why later and the reason it's strange makes sense but it's strange. The episode feels standard at the start , it is  funny have Rosa exposition dump where everyone has gone and why the Casagrande boys would be over for dinner. Anyway, Rosa has her slipper , a Chancla for this episode,  and uses it as her power source to stop chaos apparently.

Like I said this episode is weird. The first act set up is that Carl (mostly, but the other boys to an extent) want(s) to do stuff but Rosa stops it.    This is where Carl gets the idea to get rid of her chanclas and this would stop her from her power.(Does she only one pair of slippers/sandal things?)  Eventually, he takes them and hides them under the floor boards because yes the are going for a reference here.

So yes, the next day, she figures out her chanclas are  missing and apparently a) those are her only ones  b) she can't still scold Carl because reasons. (This makes sense) Maria is happy that things are gone and is happy that she can do anything she wants. (She could move)  Anyway, everything descends into chaos because Rosa only has one power apparently. Carl finds his stuff has been messed with and taken out of his room and his toy is broken.

Watching this episode is like watching madness, the whole episode feel stranger than the Serigo killed a chicken episode. Anyway, Carl deces HE HAS TO GET THE CHANCLAS BACK and the dog, Lalo, tries to stop him because everyone else likes the madness. (In our house)

   [Spoiler ahead]

The entire episode was a dream... yep Carl wakes up and it's not done being strange it has a "Star Wars" parody. (So I'm guessing the marshalls at Disney are going to tear down Nick or buy it , both are bad and possibly could happen. )

  [Spoiler over]

It's uh an episode, not bad , join the madness, kind of fun to see Carl learn a lesson through the way he did and the twist lets the episode kind of make more sense in context. It's still weird, but not bad. I give it 7.2/10.

  More after the jump

  Episode 13b: Fluff Love

An episode focused on the baby. Yes, Carlitos gets a plot focused on him. I'm surprised. Carlitos sees a penguin that he visualizes as talking to him and named Mr.Fluff. (That's enough episode for me I'm going to bed) A lot of this episode is Carlitos' noises, since he's a baby. Carlos tells  his son he's not even going to try because the claw machines are rigged. (Maybe because he's a coward)  Now Carlitos is sad and visualizing the toy and thinking it's talking to him and suggests he has to be saved.

This episode turns into Rugrats.  Carlitos goes around finding ways to get out of the apartment. He finds ways to get back to the arcade while Lalo goes around searching for the boy to find him. This episode turns into Rugrats and the Buttons and Mindy segment from "Animanics".  Vito wins both Carlitos (in a stuffed bear's remains) and the penguin toy in the machine.   He apparently won them for chew joys, and that would be bad if Carlitos was killed by  weiner dogs.

There's also a background plot, watch the background character, Alexis, it's important.  Anyway, Carlitos and Fluff decide to try and escape. When cornered, he gives Fluff to Alexis (without him knowing) and He finds Sergio who helps him (because birds are strong in this show) get back home before he gets in trouble. This was a "Rugrats" episode.  Alexis shows up and gives him the toy and  all is well, except for Lalo.

This episode is like a mixture of "Rugrats" and Buttons and Mindy. It was strange and the doll voice was annoying and even more since it had to provide a function of being able to be  the dialogue for Carlitos.  Still a pretty  fun episode to watch, do watch it for that fun. I give it 7.5/10

That's it for now, tune in next time when we wonder what would happen if Carl and Carlitos switched bodies.
